We have just returned fro a week at La Bruisanne and can only sing it's praises. What a glorious place and how lucky we were to find it. Sophie, the owner is absolutely charming and so helpful. We had our car which was fortunate as it is a good half hour uphill walk to the town but that is
part of it's charm. Close enough yet out of town and peaceful. Aix itself is a lovely place and the market is stunning. A cacophony of colours, aromas and Provencale flavours. Highly recommended. So, if ever you are down that way do not think twice about staying at La Bruisanne. You will love it.

Room Tip: We stayed in room Fanny. Lovely but has no bathroom door so modesty is comprised if that is an issue for you.

This is a great little b&B. We stayed for 3 nights in June 2012 and wished I had another 1 or 2 nights. As others have commented there are 3 rooms and we were happy with Marius room. Breakfast is great and Sophie is very helpful about places to eat and visit. We accepted her advice and was not disappointed. I would definitely stay again. You probably do need a car.
My criticisms are minor but it is hard to find the house. There are 2 parts to the street (one left and one right as you leave AIX) The correct one is the one on the right but my GPS did not recognise that side at all. Other guests had same problem. I would suggest get clear instructions from Sophie before arrival. Other minor criticism is wireless internet signal is very weak.
Neither would deter me from staying again because the place is very peaceful and nicely appointed.

Sophie welcomes you in this Bed&Breakfast a bit outside of Aix-en-Provence. You will need a car to reach this place. It is hidden in a valley surrounded by nature.

The “Bruisanne” offers 3 rooms. We found the room “Fanny” is the best one: It is a small side building some meters next to the main house. You have it all for yourself, including a huge open terrace. If you like privacy, this room is perfect.

Sophie is a fantastic host: She speaks perfect English and is completely trustful. When you arrive she will guide you through the property: The pool, the boule track, the open kitchen, and of course her cats.

We loved Sophie’s breakfast and the natural peace of this spot. It is the right location for a sophisticated chill-out and a nice home-base for trips around Aix.

My 12 year daughter and I stayed at La Bruisanne in June 2011. It couldn't have been a better experience. The place is charming, quiet and clean. We had access to a kitchenette as well, the swimming pool and bikes. Sophie was a great host and her tips fort places to visit and eat at were a treasure. If you are in Aix without a car you may need an extra budget for cabs to bring you back when it is dark. It is about half an hour walking distance from Cours Mirabeau and while the morning walk was great, we preferred getting back at night by cab since part of the road leading to La Bruisanne had no sidewalks and no lights. But it was worth the extra money for cabs.

In September 2011, while traveling Provence, we spent few nights In B&B La Bruissanne, Aix en Provence. The location was perfect: about 10 min. by car from tourist centre of the town or 25 min. by walking. We stayed in room named Ceasar (only 3 rooms available for guests).

B&B (Gated property) is located in quaint ravine, full of miscellaneous trees. No sight of any streets or roads or neighbors. The house is at the top of big property, while nice big pool and 5 parking spots (included in price) for guests is at the bottom of it. Breakfest was served on covered terrasse overloking the property, with heaters available for cool September mornings.

Outside of our room was patio with small table and 2 chairs. That more then made up for somewhat smalish room. It was possible to make patio private by leting down canwas screen. It was very pleasant to sit there with own meal and some wine.

Guests could prepare own simple meals (as well as tea or coffee) at any time, utilizing plenty of outside kitchen implements. The fridge was also available.

The plesant owner/manager was always ready to help with small problems encountered by guests when traveling. Certainly, right person in hospitality business.

If I was to return to Aix , I would not hesitate to return to La Bruissanne again.
