I stayed at La Bruissanne in May in Marius. I follow a wheat free diet due to coeliac disease. When I paid Sophie over £300 for 3 nights stay, I wrote in french that I could not eat bread, but could eat fruit, eggs, cheese, yoghurt, french buckwheat pancakes (galettes) etc and would bring my own gluten free bread so as not to inconvenience her. She wrote back a curt note, saying that at La Bruissane they served a "french breakfast of croissants" . I was quite shocked by her inhospitable and unhelpful response. I had stayed in many french b and b's whose owners were always charming and provided a good breakfast. When we arrived she persisted in serving in a basket of croissants and did not even have a bowl of fresh fruit or a piece of cheese on the table as an alternative. It seemed that she was happy to take the money but not make any effort to provide the service. Another inconvenience was that the kettle is kept in an outdoor kitchen at the other side of the house, so if you want a hot drink you have to put a coat over your nightclothes and go through the dark and rain to make a cup of tea, rather like camping. It would be better to provide a kettle in the room.

Room Tip: The rooms are nice but take your own kettle and breakfast if necessary.

Dear Kirstie,

Fisrt, I would like to apologize for this huge misunderstanding.

Yes, you had told me about your spécial diet.
I thought that since you had brought your own food and didn't ask for anything specific as I was serving breakfast, you were pleased with our home made yoghurt and its red fruits.
If only you had voiced your expectations, I would have gladly responded to them.

As for the kettle, it is clearly indicated on our website that an "outdoor" kitchen is at the disposal of our 3 rooms.

Lastly, I am sad that you had to wait to leave La Bruissanne to expose your disappointment on this breakfast issue when you never said a word about it when you were here...

Regards,
Sophie

We stayed there for 2 nights. The host Sophie is nice she provided very good breakfast every morning. We stayed in Marius. The suite is roomy, bathroom inside is lovely and clean.
Quiet and peaceful place.
Everywhere are well decorated!

You have to put your mobile and computer aside while staying there. Because the mobile could difficult to have signal and there is no wi-fi access to our room. We are so silly that we sat in front of Sophie's salon for several hour to access the wi-fi :P because of a significant football match. We can only access to wi-fi outdoors~

There is a microwave oven, ice-cube machine and washing machine in outdoor kitchen. I was freak-out when found a coffee mug with lots of spiderweb but it is still reasonable, it's outdoor kitchen anyway.

The whole place is beautiful! It must be fun and much worthy in summer!

Room Tip: Good place to stay in summer. Marius is close to pool.

We stayed here for 2 nights and wished we'd stayed longer. Sophie is the perfect host and the breakfast was delicious, the room spacious, beautifully decorated and very comfortable bed. Our own patio area meant we could chill out in the peace and quiet and enjoy the view over the garden, listening to the birds. Thoroughly recommended.

Our 12 days at la Bruissanne was perfect! My husband & I are seasoned travelers & after extensive research selected la Bruissanne as our base to explore Provence. We wanted to stay near Aix, convenient for day trips, but also a serene place to relax. La Bruissanne far exceeded our ideals!

A website can not capture the beauty of this property, which is down a quiet, tree lined lane & behind tall, manicured hedgerows with a secure iron gate. The landscaping is exquisite and well lit in the evening. Each guest room has a private entrance & separate outdoor sitting area. While there were other guests, we rarely saw or heard anyone during our 12 days at la Bruissanne. The rooms are impeccably clean, tastefully furnished in Provencal style, with fine quality linens. "Fanny" is a small, pretty room, detached from the main house, with a large covered sitting area where Sophie brought breakfast each morning. The outdoor heaters are a thoughtful addition for cooler mornings & evenings.

The outdoor kitchen is convenient & well stocked with coffee, teas, dishes & utensils. Perfect for preparing the goodies we found each day at the markets! Sophie is a gracious, thoughtful & knowledgable host, offering suggestions for day trips, restaurants & shopping, along with providing a bookshelf of maps & guide books.

Thank you Sophie for making our stay at la Bruissanne so special!
We look forward to returning & recommend highly for the perfect holiday in Provence.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at La Bruissanne, Sophie was incredibly welcoming, a wonderful host (others could learn a lot from her!). We stayed in the "Fanny" room, which is independent from the rest of the house with its own private terrace & sheltered area - it was perfect. We were welcomed with a lovely glass of rosé and were given delicious breakfasts every morning. I would love to return and would HIGHLY recommend this b&b to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Room Tip: The "Fanny" room is independent from the main house whilst the other 2 rooms are part of the main house.
