“Boutique Hotel walking distance to the middle of Aix”
Reviewed 18 August 2011

We enjoyed our 3 night stay. Everything was extremely fresh and comfortable.

Front Desk was very helpful with Restaurant suggestions and called ahead to make reservations. I always find that you will get a great table when your hotel makes restaurant reservations... although you are not a regular of the restaurant, your hotel is... and the restaurant wants the repeat business from their guests.

Chez Grand Mere (ask to sit near the fountain during warm weather) and Bistroquet were delicious French restaurants recommended by the hotel.

Don't forget to reserve for the Garage Parking provided by Hotel Cezanne. Once you're parked, you will be able to walk to town a few blocks away.

This is a beatuifully appointed boutique hotel just a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Aix, car parking, the tourist information centre, the cinema and of course shopping. The staff wer all helpful and interested in their guests. The rooms were smallish but well organised, functional, attractively decorated and comfortable. Great Callisons at the shop accross the road. terrific breakfast.

Our last stop on our June Provence tour was Aix, and we chose the Hotel Cezanne with
admittedly a few reservations. Not that reviews we could find were all that negative, but
we were unsure what type decor and furnishings we would find. After some initial
confusion in getting our bags across the busy Victor Hugo Av., we realized the decor was
quite modern and the Frommer comments on the red lobby, adjacent dining area, etc.
were spot on. Our room was pleasantly spacious, with obvious recent modernization.
We had no problems with the room, which was moderately priced as a junior suite.
The staff was most helpful, and the location was only about 10 minutes from the
center of town. The included breakfast buffet was, as advertised, quite good with
several choices of prepared hot items such as eggs benedict. Probably the least
attractive aspect was having to park in a parking garage several blocks away, as a
lesser cost alternative to hourly rates in spaces along Victor Hugo across the street.
After our initial reaction to the "red" lobby we realized that it was quite a reasonable
place to stay. No restaurant, save the breakfast buffet, but they assisted with our
choices and we dined well. We would consider going back.

Room Tip: Our room on back, overlooking a garden area, was protected from traffic noise.

I stayed a the Hotel Cezanne last summer and loved it. As stated in other reviews, it is a lovely boutique hotel in an excellent location. Although I would certainly not deter anyone from staying there, in exploring other options, I found that you can get more bang for your buck. Some hotels have pools and are equally charming. And breakfast is rather pricey. The service is always friendly and helpful. I just had some problems this go around- exceptionally small room, Internet problems, etc. But certainly a comfortable and well situated option.

Stayed here with my wife and daughter. Would recommend for good size rooms and bathrooms, handy location - walkable to centre and restaurants etc. they have car parking, but it was full, so they directed us to a public car park nearby which was fine. Air con in rooms. nice art about the place. breakfast very good, but expensive. helpful staff with good English. Aix is a really lovely town.

Having stayed in quite few dark, cramped hotel rooms in Europe, it was a great pleasure to be welcomed to the Cezanne with free parking, free wifi and free water and juice in the room fridge. The room is spacious, the bathroom facilities modern and functional. The bed is very comfortable and the room is air conditioned - very good news in the summer. The location is excellent, just in the outer perimeter of the old town. Easy to get in and out, very close the the main city attractions.
