We ended up staying there because everywhere else in Aix as well as the surrounding country side was full.
The staff were extremely friendly. The rooms are small (don't have 3 adults stay in one - that's definitely a squeeze), but clean enough.
The restaurant was quite lovely, especially considering the low budget hotel it is. Wouldn't recommend eating there twice though as you'll probably get bored of the menu. Breakfast was a nice buffet.
There is a bus stop right outside the hotel, with the bus leaving every 15minutes. The ride to the city center takes a little over 10minutes. At a fare of EUR1 per person a bargain and saves you the hassle of parking the car.

This is a travelers hotel where there is good car parking, and you need transport as it is away from the city centre. The rooms are small but comfortable and are very clean. The bathroom is small but it has been refurbished and is very good. The staff are most helpful. The restaurant is quite acceptable for good basic meals. I think Ibis is a bit over priced but you usually know what you are going to get, so there are no surprises.

Typical Ibis hotel. Very quiet considering position near autoroute. Town centre 20 minutes walk (and 10 euro taxi ride back) Room was a bit small even for Ibis. We noticed a very slight drain smell in the bath room, as mentioned by another review, but not really a problem. Staff very helpful. Nice terrace dining area. Bed comfy. Good parking

Nothing special, but no nasty surprises either. Good for a one or two nght touring stopover

As other reviewers said, the Ibis is a decent hotel with a friendly young staff near the highway on the south side of Aix. We could not hear the highway from our room. We were also given a smoking room and they seemed to have no non-smoking rooms available mid-week.
Nice breakfast buffet (the coffee machine is a minor miracle), but at dinner we found the choices extremely poor for vegetarians who don't eat fish.

BEWARE this hotel has' smoking' rooms!!

We stayed in this hotel en route to Marseilles airport after a holiday in Provence. It is ,as others have said, similar to a N. American budget hotel.

Our main complaint is the fact that we were put in a 'smoking ' room. There are only 10 such rooms in the hotel and as there were no 'non-smoking' rooms available, the staff moved us from one room into another also 'smoking' and sprayed it with an air freshener, but nothing can get the smell out of the bedding.

We realize that we should have requested a non smoking room, but as the E. U. has become smoke -free, didn't think about it.

We were in Europe for a month and this was the only place that we had this problem.
