“Excellent french bistro”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

Fantastic home-cooked french food. Not haute cuisine, nor the tourist-trap crap, but the good old french, rustic, flavoursome, romantic, hearty food, prepared with love and care. A short menu - to be expected at these little gems, but wonderfully executed dishes. No starters, just mains and desserts. I went for the lamb. Unapologetically, an excellent choice. Delicious desserts too - classics, that can't be beaten.
We saw an american couple sit down and leave within a few minutes because the chef hadn't yet come over to their table. Big mistake: they missed out on what would probably have been their best meal in Aix.
Highly recommended.

“Best home-cooked meal in Aix”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

This is a diamond in the rough - you have to be careful in Aix-en Provence not to run into awful over-priced touristy restaurants serving the same old fare. Cerise is far from this - the chef also takes the orders and runs a tight ship. We had the lamb and double chocolate gateaux which was fantastic - I could've eaten two servings of each! The salad with the lamb with goji berries and cherries was a stand out star. The only negative thing was the wine - a bottle was the same cost of the meal and didn't live up to the superb food. Definitely worth finding and booking in advance for.

“Amazing veggie dinner”
Reviewed 16 August 2014 via mobile

We had such a delicious meal here - veggie friendly as well as a few meat options. Pretty little tables with the romantic south of france night time feel - and friendly service. I will be back many times!

“My best meal in de Provence!”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

Delicious organic food, the best meal I had in Provence. The owner is also the cook and the waiter, so dont go there on a rush. We were lucky to be the firsts to be served but you might need to wait a bit. The atmosphere is great and the food was divine. The chef is extremely friendly, great personality and character. Loved it! The main dishes are 12,5-15€, glass of wine or organic juices for around 5€ as well as desserts. He is only open for dinner. We called the whole day to make a reservation and finally he picked up around 5pm :-) we were very happy that we insisted. The place was full and he was turning down people all the time during our dinner. GO! And book in advance! ;-)

Fabulous little restaurant. 6 tables outside. 1 cook who doubles as the waiter. Great food, chef has loads of personality, wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended. Make sure you book and take cash - no credit cards.
