We tour this cathedral every time we are in Aix and never tire of the history and condition of the building. Indeed parts of the cathedral are over 1,000 years old but the history of the building is the story. Assuredly there are more restored buildings to see, but listened to the guides and especially listen to the organ if you have the opportunity.

If they have a special musical event, go to it. The sound fills the cathedral providing a moving experience for all.

Also worthwhile is a guided tour of the wooden doors, hidden behind metal coverings. The doors are displayed daily for only one hour and the tour is in French, but the visual is beautiful if you can see them.

A must see while in Aix.

This church is famous for its acustics, especially with Gregorian chants. It's located at the top of the old town in Aix just up from the markets. When we visited they had a live orchestra playing Rossin. The music was unbelievable as was the atmosphere in this beautiful church.

The cathedral is very old, and it looks like it as in need in renovation, sometime we like that state of maintenance as you could get a very well feeling on how it was at the time it was built. It worth a visit if you have 30 minutes free

This church stands as an incredible testament to man's faith. The baptismal was created in 500 AD when Aix belonged to the Romans. Since that time, the cathedral has been added on to methodically. The sunlight hits perfectly on the stained glass windows. The organist was playing a magnificent and huge organ which resounded throughout. Definitely worth a visit.

Was lucky enough to visit during organ rehearsal in preparation for Bach recital - sitting in the choir stalls, the power and vibration of this amazing instrument were unforgettable. Beautiful
