Great location. Just minutes walk from Place de l'Hotel de Ville and the vibrant shopping area. The room is clean, and the staff is friendly. Better book the garage in advance, as their space is limited. More than worthwhile for the room rate.

Myself and two friends booked a triple room for three nights at the Hotel Du Globe. As the price was only 96 euros per night for the room, we were expecting a real no frills hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised. Although our room wasn't huge, it was clean, well furnished and had two balconies looking onto the Cours Sextius. Traffic noise was not a problem as we had double glazing and automatic shutters which cut out most of the noise.

As the hotel is open 24 hours it didn't matter what time we came in and the staff were really helpful and friendly. We didnt take breakfast in the hotel as there was a fantastic boulangerie/patisserie pretty much across the road which did fantastic breakfasts at half the cost of the hotel.

Pretty much everything you need in Aix is a 10 minute walk away and the Cours Mirabeau is close by.

Be warned - if you stay over a saturday night, sunday morning in the summer time, there is a massive car boot sale that takes up the whole of the cours sextius and they start setting up the stalls really early!!!!

Great hotel, would highly recommend and great value too!

Very nice hotel for the price (59 Euros for a single room), just across the road from the old town where there are lots of restaurants and cafes and just a few minutes walk to the town center where you can catch a bus to many nearby places including Marseilles (buses to Marseilles literally every 5 minutes). Room was very clean, good towels and water pressure. I did find that I could hear people in other rooms, so I'd suggest taking ear-plugs to sleep well-- not the hotel's fault, just an old building. Good value and highly recommended.

Very good budget hotel in Aix en Provence. Some improvements and reforms were being made which will surely make it even better.

Nice room, very clean, kind staff, good location (walk a few minutes and you are in the center) and very good price (especially if you use the Bon Weekend en Ville Provence)

A very good option for budget travelers, everything OK !

We have just returned from a 5 night stay in this little hotel and found it excellent value for money. We had a room on the 3rd floor, overlooking the street, but did not find it noisy at all. With windows closed at night, shutters down and aircon on, sleeping was not a problem.
The room, although small, was very clean and adequately furnished. We didn't have breakfast, as there are many cafes close by, all offering breakfasts.
The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful at all times and we found the location was ideal for visiting the adjacent old town where all the sights were easily accessible by foot.
We enjoyed resting on the roof terrace at the end of a day's sightseeing, although some of the furniture could do with upgrading.

This hotel is clean but very basic. It is situated on a road with traffic 24 hrs and our room overlooking the front was very noisy. The staff are friendly and they dealt with our request to move to a quieter room for the second night very courteously, even moving our luggage. The decor is very plain and and many walls and skirting boards are in need of a repaint. Our sink in the first room had a hole in it and the toiletries provided are not worth a mention. We didn't have breakfast because the breakfast room looked depressing. The roof terrace has lovely views but contains broken plastic recliners, as well as some nicer metal tables and chairs. We moved to another, more appealing hotel on our third day.

My friends and I (6 adults and 1 infant) stayed at this hotel whilst on a road trip through France. We stayed at Hotel du Globe for one night and arrived very late in the evening - 11pm. We phoned the hotel up twice to warn them of our late arrival. They were very accommodating and said they were open 24 hours so our late arrival would not be a problem.

We used the hotel car park to park our van (the only way to travel with that many people) for €9 per night. It was a tight squeeze and we stopped traffic whilst getting our van in but we managed it in the end!

The hotel has an old style lift - very violent that comes to a sudden jolting standstill with metal shutters - but at least the hotel had a lift. As you walk along the corridors, they use energy saving light switches so you have to hurry along to your room before the light turns-off. I guess this isn't so convenient if you're scared of the dark!

My husband and I had a room that was right at the end of the corridor, the furthest away from civilisation so it seemed. The room itself was really dim but everything was clean fortunately. The bathroom did not have a stand up shower, but an attachment to the taps which proved useless as there was no shower curtain. I ended up going to use my friend's shower unit as they did have a proper shower in their room. I guess it was just the pick of the draw with the rooms we got. The other couple we were with even had a nice balcony with there room which didn't cost any more than our room.

We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel but we did have our English breakfast teas which were reasonable at €2 per person. As I mentioned we only stayed for one night and the hotel allowed us to park our van in their garage until 12pm which allowed us time to walk around the town.

The hotel location is great to 5 minute walk into town and to the famous fountains (which weren't as impressive as the brochures made them out to be).
