This Hotel has a great location in Aix - a short walk to the centre of the town. It was clean and comfortable without being luxurious. Pleasant and helpful staff. Quiet despite being on a main road. Some parts are looking tired but it did offer pretty good value for money. Have breakfast out though.

The lobby is on the second floor and there was no functioning elevator however, one of the staff carried up most of our baggage as we parked the car. The room was located down a long corridor and around the corner down another corridor both carpeted in rugs that needed bady to be replaced or at least vacuumed and steam cleaned. I felt skeptical but then the room was very clean with quality sheets and towels. The mattress was foam but firm enough and comfortable the room was quiet and relaxing. The toilet was in a very small room with a light sensor which I found helpful at night. The tub required climbing up into (handle placed strategically would be a nice addition) the shower curtain needed to be replaced but the rest was very clean. I wish they supplied something other than square sheets of toilet paper.
but the price was reasonable and the location was perfect...walkable to the tourist information and attractions!! Easy access to our car made day trips convenient!

We travelled to Aix E-P for a wedding and we loved staying at Hotel Artea. It is situated very close to the Rotunde in the centre of town and car parking was also available close by. The Gare Routiere for the shuttle bus to the TGV was also within walking distance. The room size was quite generous and the bathroom has a separate toilet. Staff were very friendly and there was no problem with communication for non-speaking French guests. The WIFI was free and the only time we had a problem was after a severe rainstorm. We arrived quite early in the day and the was no problem for the desk staff to store our bags till our room became available. Overall we would stay at Hotel Artea again.

Very impressed with our two rooms - quiet and cool on a hot day (although it would have been nice if they could have been adjacent). The staff were very helpful (especially Miso) and the location is excellent. Would definitely recommend.

The location of this hotel is very good and it is an easy walk from the bus station which has excellent connections to the Marseilles airport. It is located on a busy street seconds away from the old town and a five minute walk to the Cours. It is a typical three star hotel - an old building with odd shaped rooms and long halls. There is an elevator half way down the length of the hotel (you need to buzz to be let in to the area where the elevator is) but otherwise it is a big staircase. The room was fine and quiet but without any character or amenities (plastic cups, only one bottle of water offered for free.) The staff were cheerful but the lobby and halls always smelled of lemony disinfectant. Better than other smells, I suppose. If I return to Aix, I would probably look for something with more charm and character.

We spent two nights at Hotel Artea during our recent travel to Provence, arriving there after a rather lengthy sight-seeing trip through the countryside from Avignon. On our arrival, we were impressed by the kindness and hospitality of the staff, who quickly helped us with our luggage and showed us where to park in their close-by private garage. Check-in was efficient, and we were very pleased with our room. We had booked a "privilege" room, and found it clean, reasonably spacious, with nice furnishings, good air conditioning controlled by an in-room thermostat, and an excellent, recently renovated bathroom. Our large window was a door (with working shutters!) that opened onto a small terrace with wicker sofa, chairs, and table--a very pleasant space to sit, and a fantastic place from which to view the Bastille Day fireworks display. (a complete surprise!) Our room was in the back of the hotel, and was quiet. We had purchased the 'bed and breakfast' option when booking, and found lots of satisfying breakfast options--varied breads, croissant, pastries, crepes, fruit, eggs, yogurt, cheese, ham, juices, and delicious coffee-made-to-order by an amazing machine. The location of the hotel is terrific--right in the center of the city, close to shopping and restaurants, yet easily accessible to major roads. Hotel Artea appears to be in the midst of a renovation, and certainly the common areas such as the entry and reception could use a bit of sprucing up. Overall, however, it is a charming place, run by good people--a solid three-star hotel in a delightful city.

Room Tip: If city noise bothers you, ask for a room towards the back. The hotel is located on a busy street,

At the arrival it might look a little bit strange and old, but the room we got was quite comfortable and renewed. It was a "privilège" room, so that´s my advice if you don´t mind spending some extra bucks for a better room. The airconditioning was not quite new but worked ok, the rest of the room was great. Breakfast is good, but could a couple of Euros cheaper (it costs 12 Euros). People at the desk was very nice and amicale !! The hotel is very well located and you can walk around it and get to know alot from Aix centreville.

Room Tip: I would advice to choose a "privilege" room...it is quite valuable...
