We stayed three nights in the Renaissance, and wished it could have been longer. The Hotel is well situated, within a 15 minute leisurely stroll of the heart of downtown. The front desk staff are enthusiastic and friendly, with lots of helpful suggesting to visit within Aix and in the surrounding area. The room we had easily accommodated a party of three, and included complimentary wifi, and use of the exercise room, indoor plunge, and steam room. We didn't eat in the hotel, but the restaurant seemed inviting. This makes a great base from which to explore the city and the region. And the underground parking was terrific. You can park the car yourself, or ask the staff to do it for you. Either way, it's easy and convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Families should think about a room with two queen sized beds.

Dear Jeff M,

Let me please thank you for the time you spent to share with us your comments following your stay at the Renaissance Aix en Provence hotel.

I am very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time with us, the hotel central location to visit Aix curiosities and city center but as well as the Provence region.

It is indeed a shame that you could not have a taste of our Mediterranean cuisine.

I wish also that you could have stay longer, but this is a very good reason to come back.

You will always be welcome.

Best regards,

My daughter, grandson (13yo), granddaughter (10) and myself stayed with you for 5 nights mid-june. The hotel is beautiful, modern, superb bedroom and bathroom with wonderful beds. Also we enjoyed the artwork everywhere in the building. In walking distance from the charming little streets of downtown. Aix was our base for daily trips to Arles, Avignon, Les Baux de Provence etc....But what made this hotel special was the staff......the best I have encountered in many years. We loved the superb breakfast each morning and dinner as well (gourmet food) while my grandson enjoyed the best hamburger with the best ketchup ! What a relief....we did not need to go out at night looking for a restaurant. My granddaughter is gluten intolerant and your staff was exceptionnally eager to accomodate her with little extras. Thank you to the restaurant staff....you are the best. Nicole

French hotels have for many of them a serious issue about the definition of luxury hotels !
This Mariott hotel is a in fact a good business hotel for corporate companies staff but not a luxury hotel for vacation.

Hotel is far from city center and is not convenient for shopping, dining, sightseeing. If you need one overnight in Aix for a business trip it could turn to be the one, but certainly not for a romantic escapade in this beautiful town.

From breakfast to room facilities, poor located don't expect discovering the city from right point of view at Mariott.

Hotel is new. Service is good, rooms are clean.

Dear Edwardh2g,

Thank you for the time you spent to share your experience at the Renaissance Aix-en-Provence hotel with us on Tripadvisor.

You are right, the Renaissance Aix en Provence is not a luxury hotel and never aimed to be a luxury hotel, Renaissance is a LifeStyle hotel Brand; based on sensorial experiences but cannot be compared to luxury hotels such as Paris or Monaco palaces. We are contemporary and urban, but our design and ambiance are pleasing most of our guests.

I am very surprised about your comments with regards to the hotel location. a hundred pour cent of our guests are unanimous about the hotel ideal location to visit Aix and Provence (see other comments on Tripadvisor). We are located at a 10 minutes walking distance from the city center, Aix curiosities, museums, theaters, restaurants, night life, markets.......

Thank you for telling us that you enjoyed the service.

Very best regards,

We went for holiday and it was great!
The food was fantastic and so was the service. The location is cool- as we were able to walk around to the stores and the casino is also a walk away.

We stayed in the one of the garden rooms with balcony. The shower is pretty small. The balcony was huge and wrapped around our room.

Overall it was a great experience.

I can't say enough about the Renaissance Aix. We only stayed one night and I wish we stayed longer. Beautiful new property in an excellent location within walking distance to everywhere. The property has a modern slick design. Beautifully appointed rooms, very clean and quite large for European standards. Very comfortable bed. Bathroom very well designed with Italian shower. Superb, attentive staff. Reception staff went above and beyond the call of duty. Everyone spoke English. We had dinner at the restaurant which was exquisite.
I would not think twice about recommending this hotel.

Room Tip: Corner units are larger.

Hotel had only been open 4 months and it is stunning! Artwork is everywhere, attention to detail, design of the rooms, toiletries, amenities, facilities, staff, everything was perfect. This was the best Breakfast we had this trip to Europe by far. We only stayed 2 nights and would have loved to stay longer. 10min walk into the centre of Aix, in a new developing area which I assume will only become better with time. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Make sure you book Breakfast with your room it's worth it for this Hotel.

This is a new hotel that opened January, 2014 that is located in an area that is being developed with an array of incredible architectural buildings and environs. Beautiful hotel with an incredible staff and concierge. Easy to walk to restaurants, sites and everything. Rooms are spacious and lovely bathrooms. Rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast buffet is wonderful. Would recommend a stay here for all.

Room Tip: We have a room looking out at Mont Victoire that was painted by Cezanne - beautiful view!
