“Excellent”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

This restaurant is on a narrow side street and has an unprepossessing exterior. Don't be put off, though, because inside is a series of very comfortable rooms, and excellent food. The fois gras was the best I have had. The duck was excellent as well. The owners have a partnership with a farm near Aix for most of their menu items.

“Good Homemade Food”
Reviewed 28 August 2013

One of the better restaurants in Aix. Choose your dish carefully. Good friendly service. Nice ambiance.
It's my alternative choice, if Charlotte & Cerise are full.

“Duck Dishes Delight”
Reviewed 20 August 2013

Unusually for us we fell upon this classic without research on our first night wander through the old town. Drawn by the large open window through to a patio, the atmosphere and the vibe drew us in. We had to wait 20 mins for a table but it was well worth the wait. The Restaurant opened in 1985 reclaiming a courtyard area between two generically old Aix properties. The wall art adds the colour. Two lady chefs ran the open kitchen in the immediate vicinity of the entrance. It felt like an invitation to a busy family dinner.
We ordered the Duck Liver salad to share with some local rosé. The serving was seriously too large for one person. We both had the recommended duck dishes; One Confit and one Margret du Canard. Seriously good dishes both with the same assortment of buck wheat, potatoes and roasted vegetables. Our south west red wine was a Gaillac 2009 from Domaine Labarthe, nothing special but regional is a good way to go. The creme brûlée with grilled pistachio dessert was again enormous so can be shared, as we did with coffee. A really good night, very good local cuisine in a very cool place. €85.
By the way, we returned a few days later and repeated the Confit Duck - very good!

“Amazing food - authentic experience!”
Reviewed 15 August 2013 via mobile

We are so happy this beautiful space was recommended to us! We definitely loved it. We practiced out French with the waiter though it wasn't necessary. We loved the Plat du Jour and the seafood plate. The wine was delicious too!!! The meal was fresh and fantastic!!!

“Nice little bistro with courtyard dining”
Reviewed 10 August 2013

We just happened on this restaurant while wandering round Aix. The food was good, service was friendly and efficient.
Especially enjoyed the courtyard; a nice change from the busy pavement cafes - lacks the people watching opportunities but very peaceful!
