Reviewed 24 January 2014

This was a lovely find right in the Centre of Apt, an old convent tastefully renovated and very simply decorated. There was a minibar on a trust basis and free wifi.

Very friendly and the owner spoke excellent English.

Stayed here for a night in late August, had the top floor after seeing a positive review on TA. Huge room with nice views. Stereo in the shower was a cool touch :) Owners are super helpful and the breakfast was superb. Late checkin as is usual in this region but Apt is cute enough to while away a few hours with some top notch restaurants.

Room Tip: Top floor all the way with balcony!

Le Couvent as the name suggests, was a Convent in ages past. Situated on the edge of the ancient part of the city, it is an eclectic mix of old and new with period furniture cheek by jowl with minmalism - and it works. From the huge bedroom, the up to the minute bathroom, swimming pool in the front garden and on excellent breakfast on the sun dappled patio.
What more could you ask for?
It is also an ideal pied a terre for visiting the nearby mountain villages of Luberon, the reason for our visit.

Room Tip: Just book it

Le Couvent rounded up top of our list after 12 nights stay at various cities. The moment we stepped in, we felt the uniqueness of this place. It is rustic, cozy, charming, fragrant ( from the Lavender planted around) and a pure joy. Each room is full of character. Lauren, the owner did most of the remodeling himself and you can feel the personal touch he put into this place. There is so much detail in each room as you can see from other pictures. We have an adjoining room on the ground floor on the other wing and it works perfect for our older parents. There is a small courtyard in front of our suites and the friendly cats welcoming us. This place is like a little museum you can explore. Breakfast was simply delightful. Freshly squeezed orange juice, great coffee, tons of tea choices and fresh bread.

There is still work in progress around but the key elements are done. The bathrooms are modern and yet the rooms still retaining historical touch. It also has amazing internet speed.

Use this as a base to explore the Provence area. You will not be disappointed. Apt itself is a cute little town. We enjoy it better than Aix-en- Provence or Sault. Laurent was also very helpful giving us recommendations for dinning and places to see.

If you are planned to come and visit Provence I don,t think you can found the better place. Every corner of this hotel have made with a big love and a great test. If you see few pictures , how breakfast is made . I think fresh flower in the bath room -just no comments, toilet paper with lavender flower....... Very clean swimming pool and what is most important - atmosphere . If somebody so a movie "Good year" (producer Ridlis Skot) it is a very similar place in mini version. Beautiful !

Le Couvent is a wonderful place to stay if your in Apt. The rooms are huge and nicely furnished, almost a miracle in France for a modest price. The continental breakfast was excellent - the best croissants, preserves, coffee and breads I've found in on this vacation. Very nice pool in the garden. Staff very friendly.

Le Couvent was a experience. It is a former convent and Laurent and his wife, the owners, added to the experience. The breakfast was delicious and the croissants were so good. The pool was wonderful. Le Couvent was decorated with items from the days when it was a couvent. I loved the old photos thought out the B and B. They spoke English which are very helpful as my French is not good. Our room on the top floor was more the large it was enormous with views over the city of Apt.

Room Tip: Ask for the room on the top floor with two beds. It is a hike since it is on the fourth floor, no e...
