Food was very good only to be spoilt by front of house maitre de. I think she was Dutch with attitude. Would give it a wide very. Shame. Chef suggest you teach her manners in dealing with people.

Ate there for the second time last Friday, food is great and well cooked, HOWEVER, the service on this visit was very poor, lots of huffing and puffing with little or no conversation, we were glad to get out of the place and gave dessert and coffee a miss. Our plates of food were served by chef due to the chaos front of house purely down to self management.

This little gem is family run (husband and wife team) which is evident in the quality of service and food provided. The restaurant is small but we sat outside in a lovely setting off of the main drag away from the crowds. The host was so welcoming and offered many recommendations. The food was of a calibre that exceeded what you would expect from a small establishment like this. Souris d'Agneau was excellent as was the Loup de Mer. Highly recommended as you will notice many locals and not as many tourists which is always a great sign.

I hadn't been to Apt for more than ten years but one of the reasons to go back was to eat this fabulous chef's food. What I didn't know was that he had been retired for the last 7 years and we had arrived after his new venture, with his lovely wife Lili serving on the floor, had just opened one month ago. I had the most enormous chunk of fois gras as a starter while my fiancé had the diced raw fish with fennel. Both excellent. We followed this up with veal in a mushroom sauce and a rack of lamb. Dessert was ice-cream filled choux pastries and a crème caramel just to finish us off. Jacky is a talented chef and the culinary world (and my stomach) is a better place now that he is back in the kitchen. I hope to be back before he retires again. He cooks with whatever he finds in the local Apt market, so it's always fresh and seasonal. Go and eat there.
