Great base if you want to travel around Provence by car., big rooms (especially for France), nice service, good breakfast. Very nice price:quality ratio. Walking distance to city center, very nice route for running to Van Gogh bridge .

I stayed here for two nights while exploring Provence with theuntravelledworld.com. The hotel is in a quiet corner of lovely Arles, down by the canal, but it was easy to find when I arrived on the first evening as it is very well signposted through the town. The hotel's atrium is very grand looking and this favourable impression continued into my room, which I thought was clean and modern. I had booked in advance and my rate included breakfast, which was very good for a French hotel. For dinner, it was a 10-minute walk to the Rue Clemenceau where there were a choice of restaurants. Overall, I was very impressed, especially since I paid only about €70 a night, including the city tax. Two very minor negatives were that the milk for the coffee in the room was not replaced on the second day and that the hair-dryer in the bathroon was not working.

At first this hotel seemed quite nice, good layout, decent rooms. Our first clue should've been the school children there!!
I have nothing against school trips but this was verging on the ridiculous! The noise was unbearable at 2am!
The food was passable, but after a few complaints, we were getting tired of fish and aubergines! And no restaurant at all at the weekend! The waiter should've been called Manuel! Hie was simply so bad, he was funny!!!
However, beautiful town, good food and interesting history

Room Tip: They're all pretty much the same

I stayed in this hotel whilst on a school trip. The website showed pictures of the hotel before it had been renovated which wasn't very helpful. Some rooms had two floors which seemed to excite some students as they quite enjoyed running up and down their stairs. The one day we did dine there, the hotel had run out of ketchup meaning I had to eat my chips dry. Individual wifi codes were given to guests on orange sheets and claimed to last for three days but I found I had to get a new code atleast four times a day. Most members of staff were friendly and spoke English very well but the cleaner did not actually clean, just made the beds. Her hair was often found in my sink or on the floor and bed and the survey of the guest who had stayed before me was still on my bedside table. Outlets did not work unless the lamp was on meaning if I both my roommate and I charged out phones overnight we would have to sleep with all the lights on. But the decor of the hotel was very nice and no room was the same making them all unique.

We are an elderly retired couple, trying to see the world on a budget before we are called to the Great Spirit in the Sky. We decided on this hotel because the web pictures looked good, there was a balance of positive reviews in TA, and the tariff offered seemed good for a three-star hotel. Oh, and we were driving so the free car parking influenced our decision as did the free Wi-Fi. We booked for two nights through a "reputable" on-line booking company.

After negotiating traffic through a rather sleazy part of Arles, on arrival at 3pm we were dismayed to find that the hotel car park was already full, with cars parked everywhere in that ingenious way only the French tolerate. We unloaded our bags at the entrance and then reversed out to find (luckily!) parking in a nearby street.

Entering the reception area, the hotel looked very grand. The young lady behind the counter spoke English better than we spoke French so check-in was fairly smooth. We were allocated a room on the first floor, but on entry we were a bit dismayed - the room had an unpleasant smell, a sort of odour reminiscent of carbolic soap and disinfectant. We opened the French windows to air the room and turned off the air-con; this helped, so we tried to avoid using the air-con. This was difficult since the day temps were up to 28 deg C. So time to cool off in the pool. Strangely, the pool did not look remotely like the web pictures - there was nowhere to change, and most of the sun-lounge chairs seemed to be broken. Worse, the pool was FREEZING! The hot tub was OK but you can't swim in a hot tub. Hmm, getting a bit unhappy at this stage.

On the positive side, the shower was OK, the TV worked OK, there was an electric jug with tea and coffee sachets, and a small fridge which did work. The internet was just OK - at 48Mbs - but the mattress and bed were good.

Not so good was the advertised "10 minutes walk from Roman ruins" - it maybe10 minutes if you are young and fit. If you are older and not so fit, make that 20 minutes - we know, 'cos we walked to the Roman amphitheatre and on arrival, boy! did we need a rest.

Breakfast was an additional10 Euros each and frankly, it was just adequate. It was the usual continental buffet, supplemented by rubbery scrambled eggs and some sort of frankfurter sausage which we didn't try.

When checkout time came we were really annoyed to find that another English-speaking couple whom we met earlier, had booked only 4 weeks ago through a different on-line booking agency and had obtained a rate cheaper than ours for a similar room. What's more, their rate included breakfast - Grrrr! We had booked 3 months earlier and our agency assured us we had the best price at the time... yeah, right. First big negative for our preferred on-line Booking company!

Summing up - a disappointment. The hotel may have been grand once, but now it looks in need of a make-over and it's in a shabby part of town. If you are elderly, go elsewhere.

Dear Guest,

Many thanks for taking time to comments yoru trip in our property.
We were more than happy to welcome you. And now be sure that I read your explenation with a lot of attention.
About the parking, we have more than 60 places for 67 rooms, so I am really surprised about the fact of the parking fully booked.
I am pleased to read your staisfaction about the hotel decoration the receptionnist service, the room, bathroom and services in the room . All our rooms are located on the first floor delivery by the elevator.
About the swimming pool, in our country, with our weater temperature, no outside swimming poll are heated, it is why we install for our guest confort a jacuzzi, that you have been appreciate.
About our location, yes we informed our guest about an average time of walking distance, and I can understand that for some persons it could be longer or for others shorter. Do you ask us about the Taco and Co ? We have a partnership with a cycle compagnie which can pick up you at the hotel and show you the old city or leave you at the Van Gogh Space or the Amphitheatre for exemple.
About yoru reservation, I can understand yoru position but unfortunatly and even if your rates are the same, the agency makes their own rates on ours.
Dear Guest, please e sure that we are really concerned by your position and will be honored to welcome you again.

we stayed here for four nights and would recommend it. the recently renovated rooms have every mod con and we were put in one initially. It was a bit small for my husband and I as we are messy people and they happily changed rooms for us ( and took all the luggage) on the second night. Good beds, swimming pool OK but a bit Claustrophic. lovely to arrive back to the airconditoned bliss of the large reception room after a hard morning's sightseeing.

A quiet hotel only 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Arles. A reasonably spacious room with coffeee making facilities and large, walk in shower (well worth the small extra cost) made for an enjoyable stay. The included breakfast option made it a very good value package. Free parking was also included. Will book here next time.
