“Good visit, but difficulty getting into gated parking lot”
Reviewed 27 November 2011

The Hotel room was good. The service was good. The amenities were average. The parking was bad to get into because the gate was locked. Also the parking lot was poor lighting at night. But the location was excellent - very close to Arles!

I stayed at this hotel during a "birdwatching "trip to the Carmague which is quite near to Arles. The hotel is situated 2km from Arles town centre within a Industrial shopping area ,its very close to motorway access so no need to drive into town and search for your hotel .
Typically (ibis ) the rooms are basic, but exceptionally clean,no complaints in that department .The staff at the hotel from front desk to cleaner were a joy to behold ,very helpful indeed .
My only complaint is the "bar" area, every Ibis Hotel seem to have the same sterile aura ,more atmosphere on the moon than in an Ibis bar !
With not driving I used local transport which I found excellent,as well as going down to the Carmague I travelled to Carcassonne,Avignon,Port St Louis,Salon de Provence, and many other places, all the buses I used were very punctual.
The railway can be used for trip further afield such as Nimes and Marseilles,Arles station being a mere 10 minute stroll from the town centre
The street market Thursday and Sunday should NOT be missed ,neither should the fantastic restaurants and cafes Arles has to offer.
My stay in Arles was a truly wonderful experience and the Ibis Hotel helped "if youv'e got good digs 80% of your battle is won " that's one of my sayings that !

My wife and I stayed here fopr 4 nights in September 2011 during the Ferria du Riz. We have stayed here before and were very pleased previously. This stay was just as good although thew hotel was very busy. Yje staff were extrem, ely helpful and friendly. You know what to expect from Ibis and this comes up to all of one's expectations.

Agree with a lot of what has been said before.

The good things are : Its just off the main road into Arles - so easy access. Staff were very helpful and friendly during our 1 night stay. The bed was comfortable and large. Everything in the room and bathroom was clean and well maintained. Air con worked and was needed as hot when we were there. We didnt think the walk into town was that far or presented any security issues - though we are used to walking and have no mobility issues. ( When we were there the Rice Festival was on and Arles was full of thousands of very raucous revellers - it was pretty good - but I doubt anyone in a central Arles hotel got to sleep before the early hours !). The breakfast was well presented, had plenty of choice and was regularly replenished - I thought reasonable value compared to what you would get as petit dejeuner
at say a local cafe - more choice, eat as much as you like. I thought the pool was OK - it does need updating but was clean and refreshing. Plenty of parking and car park is locked at night. Free internet access is handy - yes there's a limit but not surprising if its free.

The downsides : location might be if you dont want a ( or can't) walk 15 mins ( a mile at the most) into Arles, the bar is'nt up to much - basic and not that inviting as tables are in fact the breakfast tables. The room and bathroom are both 'compact' despite the bed being big. We only stayed 1 night so no problem but I'd ideally like a bigger room than this if staying a few nights.

Overall this hotel suited our itinerary and purpose and I think was reasonable value for money. It's an Ibis and by and large you know what you're getting with them - it pretty much fits the bill.

We stayed for 3+2 night in two connecting rooms with our family. Everything was perfect, location for visiting Provence, good rooms, excellent breakfast just to move till afternoon (!), cheap and good enough diner in the hotel when you are tired after a long "walking" day. Swimming pool perfetct to relax before diner. People in Ibis Arles were SO kind and always available to give suggestions and help.

Hotel easy to find on outskirts of main town. Long walk into town should you want to eat & drink in town without driving. Okay if you look upon it as an overnight stay. Menu very limited and food mediocre.
