Found this hotel as featured in "Living in Provence" book. Many famous people have stayed here,I'm not surprised it's wonderful. We stayed one night, but wished we'd booked 2/3 nights. Fantastic staff, especially the lady manager. Our room, although very reasonable was very comfortable, air con and ceiling fan. Very comfortable bed! Huge bathroom, although no proper shower? Can't wait to book again! Garage parking very swish, but don't take your Range Rover! Fantastic location right in the centre of 'Van Gogh' land! A perfect hotel for a romantic get away.

This is a beautiful and historic hotel - lots of previous famous guests. Its position on the Place de Forum is great, although a little tricky to drive to if you use the garage facilities. Sitting outside in the Place having breakfast is a great experioence - and in our opinion the best croissants of our holiday.

This isn't, however, a hotel with all 'mod cons' and amenities and people expecting that will be disappointed. It is a hotel with character which is very comfortable. I would highly reccomend it.

Would also reccomend the restaurant Au Brin de Thym, a short walk away on Rue Dr Fanton for dinner, and the glaceria on Plave de forum opposite the hotel.

The hotel was really delightful. It sits right in the middle of Place du Forum with its many lovely restaurants and cafes. Our room was almost like an apartment. Christine who manages the hotel was so helpful to us. She helped us make arrangements when our trip needed to be changed and was really very kind. We will be back again to stay at this wonderful hotel.

A lovely hotel with lots of character and history, made more special by the warmth and friendliness of the hotel staff.

It was rather costly for the quality of the room, but its location and its staff more than made up for this. We arrived in Arles having had 3 sleepless nights in Avignon, and asked for a quiet room which we got. We arrived nearly 3 hours early for check-in, but the receptionist was very good humoured and accommodating.

We ate in the restaurant on our last evening - very lovely food and wine. Breakfast is expensive (14 euro for continental) but you can have a leisurely meal - no-one is rushing you and the quality is worth it (we preferred it to the 5 euro breakfast in a nearby bar, where people were smoking whilst we ate).

Yes, as mentioned by a previous profile, there does often seem to be one person staffing reception and the bar but they do this well and in a professional yet relaxed manner. It seems all the more personal for that.
