The Le Regence was a great spot to stay in Arles. Eric was fabulous and provided useful information, as well as chilling a bottle of wine for us. The room was good and breakfast was as well. It's close to the train station, but if you drive there is parking across the street. Arles is an easy walking town with lots of great restaurants and sites.

We spent 3 nights at the Hotel Regence, in a triple room. The location is great - right next to the Rhone, and within easy walking distance of all the sights of Arles. There is free parking across the street, and pay-for-parking on the side street. We were able to find a nearby parking space each night. This was a good base for exploring Avignon, Arles, Les Baux, and the other pretty little towns in the area. The manager was very helpful and friendly.

Simple hotel at walking distance from the train station (5min), the old city (15min), plenty of free street parking nearby. There is a free navette (bus) that starts from the train station to the touristic point in the old town) but hotel is very closed to main attractions. The owners are very kind and can speak English (though I did not check their fluency since we are french Canadians). Possible to have breakfast (croissant, juices, coffee, bread, biscottes, ham, cheese, yogurt, jam) for 7€ and wifi for 2€ (but s/times in the evening connection is not very good so we just went downstairs to get connection and return to our room). The room was very clean and comfortable with access to a safe in the room and a tv with cable (only french programs though there was the bbc). Small but clean bathroom with hot shower. There is a Monoprix (grocery store) in a walking distance on Stalingrad St. Big Market on Saturday and smaller one on Wednesday is fun to visit. We rent our car at Europcar on Stalingrd St (about 10min walk from hotel) through www.locationdevoiture.fr. We stayed here a week and made day trip by car to Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Baux-la-Provence, St-Rémy de Provence, Camargue, Cassis ( bit far though). Excellent central point, would highly recommend this hotel if you look for a simple, clean, well located and affordable hotel.

Room Tip: We had room 16 with 2 twin beds view on the Rhone.

This hotel is simple, but nice. Decorated in the Provençal style, it was comfortable. Very clean. I enjoyed the location, which was just inside the old walls and across the street from the river. It was easy to walk everywhere in the old town. There was plenty of free street parking. We found good restaurants in the nearby plaza. If you are there on a Saturday, be sure to check out the market. Incredible! We did not eat breakfast there, but they allowed us to have coffee and tea for 1€ per day each. They have wifi downstairs, but most of the time I had difficulty connecting to it. To their credit, I did not get charged for the wifi because of this. I would stay there again.

If you are accustomed to 5 star hotels, you may not enjoy this truly French European Hotel. Our first 2 nights in France were at the Le Regence and loved it!!! All our needs were met and an enjoyable stay was had from our very small bathroom and comfortable room. The rooms are not big, but we had plenty of room for our needs [during our travels, we use our room for sleep and showers]; it was clean and was kept up, and we found it quite comfortable and charming--with TV too for those who enjoy this amenity. The price was good too. It was central to sites we wished to see [we had a car; not sure how it might be for train travelers]. We thoroughly enjoyed our Hotelier Eric. He was very kind, helpful, and when busy, his wife helped us out as well.

This is a clean and adequate hotel. The owners were welcoming and hospitable when our plane was delayed and we couldn't arrive until after midnight (12 hours late). We were only able to send them an email of the delay - it would have been nice to hear they had received our late request. However, they waited up for us and made sure we had a place late in the night and we were most grateful. The breakfast was more than adequate and the location in Arles is fabulous. Perfect for walking about this beautiful city. Great access to all of the sights in and around Arles.

This is a small hotel run by Eric and his wife Valerie, who are friendly and helpful. It is very convenient if you are arriving by train, the station being about 5 minutes walk away. The hotel is on the banks of the Rhone at the north edge of the old town and all sights are within 10 or 15 minutes stroll.
Rooms at the front of the hotel have a river view. We had a room at the rear (number 11) which overlooked an inner courtyard which served as a car park. Our room was surprisingly quiet, with no noise whatsoever from 10 pm to 6.30 am. As it was hot, we had the windows wide open and didn't hear anything on the three nights we stayed at the hotel.

Breakfast was charged at 6 euro per person and was well worth the money. There was a selection of cereals, fruit juices, bread, cake, cold meat, cheese and fruit salad and yogurts. Each morning we were each brought a very large fresh croissant, which was delicious. With this breakfast we found that a small snack around lunchtime kept us going through a full days sightseeing. For any more food, there was a Monoprix supermarket only 5 minutes from the hotel.

Overall, we would recommend this hotel for visitors to Arles. Clean and typically Provencal, with helpful owners.
