I stayed here with a group of teenagers I was chaperoning and we all liked the hotel. It's location is superb for exploring Arles and the price really can't be beat...of course it's not a five-star hotel, so don't expect a 5-star room! That being said, each room was unique (read: CHARACTER!) and kept very clean. The staff were very friendly. The owner even put together a small picnic for us with fresh produce from the market one morning with fresh cheeses, olives, bread, sausages & chilled wine...for a very reasonable price too! In short, stay here if you want a good, clean, hospitable place to stay that allows you to save some precious euros for eating out, buying souvenirs and, well...doing more than just staying in your hotel room....

Unlike previous Amsterdam reviewer on this hotel I had no qualms allowing the hotel to garage my Ferrari or paying in advance (normal, thats why hotels require a credit card.)
Staff charming and helpful, decor has character reflecting good taste and quality.
Central position, booked here due to booking error at five star hotel, did not regret, friendly atmosphere, fantastic value.
A real gem ! only one small point no restaurant but as hotel is very central there are many fine eating places close by that the owner was able to recommend and book for us.
Invaluable help as often in a strange city I have suffered mediocre meals at over inflated touristic prices, local knowledge of restaurants is a must .
Overall a charming small hotel where the customer seems important to the staff and management, sadly lacking in a lot of establishments these days.

Room faced the street and because of hot early summer weather the window has to be open, and that allowed in lots of street noise. Interior walls seem paper thin and conversations next door as well as bathroom noises are clearly audible. Bed not comfortable. Decor and bathroom were fine. Room rate for a double was eur 85 with another eur 15 for breakfast for two. Not a pleasant sleeping experience. If you need to leave early, breakfast doesn't start till 8 am.

We arrived in Arles with no accommodation booked. We found the little 2* place in the centre which was an ideal location for exploring. The man on reception seemed to also be running the place and on our initial enquiry we were told that he was unable to show us a room as he was on his own. We found the entrance and lobby unusual but quite stunning. We had to pay up front and parking was an additional 10Euro in a secure garage. We presumed this was on site at the rear, and basing our opinion on our lobby view paid for one night.
This was all somewhat decieving, as what he failed to tell us prior to handing over our credit card, was that the garage was 10 minutes drive away and he wanted our car keys to take our car by himself. This was the only option and upon our refusal, due to the love of our sports car & a small matter of a lack of fully comp insurance for him, his politeness diminished somewhat. He did try to tell us that he has driven a Bentley into the garage previously so it would be fine. This was despite earlier commenting on our car being small otherwise it would not fit in the garage!! It was also strange that he was not able to show us a room which would take 30 seconds, but was able to take our sports car for a run through the exciting narrow streets of Arles for a 10 minute drive and then walk back!!!!
The introduction to our room was not too bad, it was spacious and a mix of art noveau/modern and raw - but you need an open mind to allow for the bright mix of colours which cover up some peeling walls and slight damp. It is an old building though and has a fair bit of character. Our room overlooked the courtyard and was not too noisy, except for a slight hum of chatter of staff & friends drinking wine there until late.
Breakfast is described as continental. We were not impressed with this-a cup of coffee, small orange each (no top ups), a crusty bread roll and croissant.
Staying at this hotel is a trade off with a dishonest /unpleasant staff experience and basic facilities, against a superb location where there does seem to be a lack of hotels.

It is one of the most regrettable choice of my journey to southern france. I agree that it is not expensive for a two star hotel in provence, but certainly in Arles, this lay-back little city there would be a better choice.
The lobby is magnificient, and decieving. You will not find the same quality of decoration, nor the facility of such standard in your room. The room is filled with a smell of old furniture, walls painted so roughly with a bizarre green color, windows about 4 meters high to the ground so you can never reach, furniture not quite usable so finally you'll find you have only a bed that is usable. Watch out there is no heater. In March on a rainy day, you'll feel cold.
The worse thing is that the entire building is filled with this strange atmosphere that makes you feel so uncomfortable. Looks like it is haunted or it is actually a vampire residence.

The service is quite terrible. It is basically run by two people, an old lady and a middle-age man, who are not doing any service but only reservation. They are basically absent the entire morning so if you need anything in the morning, you will find nobody but the femme de menage, who's only doing the breakfast and housekeeping. Breakfast is so ordinary and the worse is that you have to wait 30 minutes before it is served.

Finally, don't trust the website. If you really need to stay in this hotel, ask them to show you the room before you pay or make any decision.
