What a splendid place this is! We needed somewhere to stay for the duration of a sporting event nearby and came across the chateau online. The photos do not do justice to either the interior of the apartment or the exterior of the building.
Inside, the proportions are palatial, and the apartment is thoughtfully well-equipped with everything from pool towels to excellent wi-fi.
Outside, the pool was perfect for cooling off in the intense summer heat and the poolside bbq made a pleasant change from feeding everyone indoors.
Narla, who handles check-in/check-out, was kindly and helpful, and we were able to get answers to our questions despite her non-existent English and our school French.
The Chateau benefits from being home to residents who obviously take pride in the upkeep of the place. Those we met went out of their way to be welcoming and added a special dimension to our memorable experience.
In all, a gem of a place in the midst of the wine region that is home to Chateauneuf du Pape and Cotes de Rhône. Stay if you get the chance.
They accepting us, then realized they were double booked for a few of our dates. They offered us 2 days free, then cancelled on us at the last minute leaving us nowhere to stay during peak season! Unprofessional.
The chateau was a beautiful retreat, with gorgeous living apartments, beautiful grounds and an idyllic swimming pool. I would definitely recommend the venue to anyone wishing to visit the Avignon environs.
