“Nice food very small portions”
Reviewed 3 August 2013

We had lunch there and stumbled upon it, since it is located opposite the restaurant we were looking for (something with Gout). Since that was closed, we decided to give this one a try. The best option were the menu for € 20 where you can choose one starter or desert and one main course. We chose as starter the Nice onion cake and as mains scallops. The quality was very good. To ask for an add €3 for the scallops and then give a stick with 4pcs made us not very happy. It would have been little at the regular price but charge then on top is too much. The deserts, caramel cheesecake and chocolate mousse with salt were excellent.

“Great food, confusing service”
Reviewed 27 June 2013

We returned to this restaurant after visiting ten years ago. It was 1:30 p.m., and we (three) were offered a table outside. Since the waitress had very limited English, we used our (also limited) French. Unfortunately, after we had all decided on an entrée and a main, we were told that we could only order main courses and desserts since it was too late for the starter course! The cook/manager actually stood beside the waitress and watched while we struggled with the menu choices.
The food was consistently good, but the service was definitely rushed. We would have preferred to be turned away rather than allowed in but then treated like we were in the way. Tables were being cleared all around us, umbrellas folded down, etc., before we even had our desserts delivered. Definitely not the experience we were hoping for, and it did a disservice to the excellent dishes themselves.

“Kitchen closed at 1:15 pm”
Reviewed 24 May 2013

Waitress A told us to have a seat from distance. Waitress B arrived and asked us something in French and after we saying in English about our intention to have lunch, she replied that the kitchen was already closed... at 1:15 pm. Great

“A Wonderful Lunch”
Reviewed 30 December 2012

What a great end to a wonderful stay in Avignon. We were looking for somewhere to eat and came across the lunch board advertising a 3 course lunch for 12 Euros! We sat outside in the sun and it was just perfect.
My sister and I started off with a salad which wasn't that remarkable but still enjoyable then my main course was sardines and a side dish of couscous. It was probably a morrocan dish Mmm. very tasty. The woman in charge who I assumed was the owner was very efficient and friendly and a bit of a character. She was entertaining. We also had a fruit salad for dessert and you had the option of either coffee or a glass of wine - all for 12 Euros. We came away very happy. Thank You. We would certainly return.

“Imaginative food, friendly atmosphere.”
Reviewed 2 September 2012 via mobile

I have eaten here twice. The atmosphere is friendly and the service professional and prompt. The whitefish appetizer is very tasty, with unexpected combinations of flavours. The scallop main course was divine, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The accompanying side dishes were in separate dishes so their individual seasonings remained distinct -- really flavourful. The steak was tasty but too tough. The French fries were among the best I have ever eaten. The profiteroles were out of this world. I was by myself and wanted a glass of wine and found my only choices were white, rose or red -- no choice of label or quality. The rose and red were acceptable for 3 euros, but I would gladly have paid more for better quality wine had this option been available. There were many menu choices and the prices were very reasonable.
