We recently spent 9 nights in the magical Mas De Capelou - 2 nights in the Capeline Suite (B&B) and 7 nights in the Marquis apartment.

The Capeline suite was a lovely large room which was beautifully decorated and the breakfast of fruit, baguettes, croissants and a freshly baked fruit tart under the shade of the trees in the garden was an idyllic way to wake up in the morning.

The Marquis apartment was also the perfect apartment... large, modern and clean with a balcony, a good sized kitchen and all the necessary equipment to make a self catering holiday run smoothly.

The gardens of the house are beautiful and truely relaxing. The swimming pool is large and great for both adults and kids, as it has a good sized shallow area.

Jean Pierre is a fabulous host - nothing is too much trouble and he is very welcoming. We loved our stay at Mas de Capelou and we will definately return some day.

Our family of four stayed at Mas de Capelou for two nights in July and count it as the highlight of our stay in France. The grand old house is elegantly restored. It sits in the shade of some lovely old trees, surrounded by pear and cherry orchards and set against a backdrop of sunflowers. A row of cypress trees borders the large swimming pool, which was a cool and relaxing way to spend a hot day, especially with some cold local wine. Combined with the fragrance of lavender in the air and the sound of cicadas, Mas de Capelou is a truly amazing Provencal experience!!!

Jean Pierre was a gracious host! We felt privileged to be so well looked after by him and his friendly team.

Mas de Capelou is located close to the historic, fortified city of Avignon, which was wonderful to visit and atmospheric at night, however it was also delightful to drive back, to our quiet retreat, through the Isle de la Barthelasse itself, with its wheat, orchards and sunflowers. We only wish we'd stayed longer to have spent more time in Avignon as well as soaking up the atmosphere of this beautiful place!

Room Tip: Capeline has a bedroom with a queen size bed, and another small room with a single bed. We requeste...

Nice and quiet property conveniently located close to the historical city of Avignon. There are only a few rooms and apartments so you really feel privileged to be welcome by Jean-Pierre and Catherine.
The swimming pool is big and the old superb trees offer pleasant shadow in the garden.
There is ample parking space within the property, which is very convenient.

We stayed at Mas de Capelou for several nights. Brilliant oasis and very lovely host Jean Pierre who made us feel very welcome. We were very happy with the accommodation and delicious breakfast! It's important that you have a car as it's in a semi-rural setting.

Our experiences at Mas de Capelou were little short of heavenly: our stay was in the beautiful, Provencal homestead set amongst the orchards and fields of sunflowers during a fragrant, heady, few days of summer in Provence last week. It was hot, and the swimming pool was a magnificent way to cool off. I really enjoyed meeting the other guests - some of whom were families with children of varying ages - and all of whom were charming and interesting. Our host, Jean-Pierre, was excellent in providing for all of our needs, and went well beyond the call of duty in arranging taxis, rental cars, short, customised itineraries for the nearby areas and generally just being interested and interesting. I could not recommend Mas de Capelou more highly and hope to return there soon.

We loved our short stay at Mas de Capelou. Jean Pierre is a lovely host and the grounds are breathtaking. The rooms are very comfortable. The breakfast needs a little more variety, but that's really a personal preference. You can also buy ans store food in the pool fridge and barbecue when you wish. Also, you can order a cold dinner from Jean Pierre and enjoy it in the garden. We cannot wait to return to this beautiful place!

We just returned from our trip to Avignon, where we stayed at Mas Capelou B&B, and what an amazing place this was: beautiful grounds, with lots of fruit trees (we even got to have freshly picked cherries for breakfast); very nice and clean swimming pool that our kids (6 and 2) have enjoyed tremendously. Rooms were very well updated and spacious. The place is in a very good location, only a few miles away from the center of Avignon, yet feels very quiet and secluded. Hosts were great, welcoming but not imposing. I specifically would like to mention that Jean Pierre, the host, was extremely helpful to us: our rental car broke down the last night we stayed in Avignon, and the rental agency, Avis, was not providing any service (please do yourself a favor and never rent from them). Jean Pierre went out of his way spending a lot of time on the phone with Avis reps (Avis reps were more comfortable communicating in French), and then shuttling our family back and forth a few times since the car rental was not making any effort to help us. We were extremely grateful that Jean Pierre went above and beyond to ensure that this car issue did not ruin our vacation. We highly recommend this place and look forward to returning there in a few years.
