We stayed for a week as part of a tour of Provence and Languedoc. The house is well-loved, beautiful and the hosts, Francoise and Paco were delightful and helpful. Our pink bedroom was lifted straight out of the pages of a novel. The breakfasts were delicious, the pool and garden peaceful and a lovely haven after a day of sightseeing. Out of the hustle and bustle of the magnificent Avignon so you would need a car. With a summer kitchen/ fridge/ free coffee and tea at our disposal, we stocked up with salads, olives and rose wine and spent some lovely evenings back at the house, pretending it was ours! If you love living in France rather than just visiting, if you love meeting people from all nationalities, if you love being treated like family, this is the bed and breakfast for you.

We (myself and my partner) have just returned from a 5 day stay at Domaine de Rhodes.

The place it lovely and the owners are very welcoming.

A car is necessary to get into and out of town and the owners were very useful in pointing out where to park when going into town for dinner or during the day.

Would definitely recommend to others and as a quiet retreat or city break. Of course with it not being within walking distance to the city it means that someone needs to drive and therefore you are not able to drink with dinner; I am not a big drinker so not biggie however.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Mistral room and found it perfect for us. Very large with a/c and access to the wfi...

Absolutely loved our four night stay in this beautiful French provincial farmhouse on the island La Barthalasse. Loved our huge pink room (bath with hand held shower not ideal). Wonderful hosts Francois and Paco provided a beautiful breakfast with different table setting each day.
Absolutely beautiful grounds and pool. Not really suitable unless you have a car as it is outside of the walled city. Outside kitchen (fridge, coffee machine and dining facilities) for use of guests.
It is a very quiet location not far from Avignon, wineries, St Remy and other villages.
Thank you Francois and Paco from your West Australian guests.

Others have described well this enchanting B&B, ideally located on Barthelasse Island across the river from Avignon, so we will not repeat their plaudits, with which we wholly agree.

However, we would like to say that the highlight of our week at Domaine de Rhodes was the pleasure of meeting and spending time with Francoise and Paco. A more delightful and entertaining couple we have never met and the time spent with them was the pinnacle of our month in Southern France. Francoise and Paco conduct and exceptional B&B. While the location and accommodation are excellent, they manage to be both there when needed, meeting your every need, but also allow guests to have enough personal space to feel as if they are the sole occupants of this delightful former hunting lodge.

Breakfast is served without fuss and in generous portions, but the highlight for us was the opportunity created each morning when Francoise and Paco joined the guests at the table and participated in the conversation about local attractions and places to see. Each day we would linger on after others left the table and talk about France and learn about the local culture. Francoise and Paco also showed real interest in our part of the world so the conversation was never lacking.

Each day our return to Domaine de Rhodes felt like returning home, such was the warmth and friendliness of our hosts' welcome! Several months now after having returned home from France we still smile as we recall the time we spent with Francoise and Paco.

Do go and enjoy the beautiful hunting lodge, the lovely gardens and the delightful rooms but especially go to meet these outstanding hosts. They'll make your holiday special, as they did ours.

Room Tip: Mistral is a beautiful room.

We stayed at the cottage Renoir for a week, June 20-27 (14). This review would be a repeat of what the other reviewers said, because they're all true. Upon our arrival, Francoise made us feel welcome, while Paco helped us with our luggage. Francoise had the town and regional map and a refreshing drink that the Vaucluse region is known for, all waiting for us at our cottage. We told her our plans to see the different town markets and her recommendations helped us make our decisions on which ones to go to since there were a lot! We went to Uzes on our first day and it did not disappoint!
She also gave us the names of the best places (with reasonable prices) to get our soaps, tapenades to take home and the places did offer better products and prices! Parking was never a problem and the security and safety of the place was never in question. Even though we stayed in the cottage we opted to partake of the main house's brreakfast. It was superb! My friend and I most especially loved, the warm, buttery, flaky croissant with the lavander and rose jams and with all the cheeses on the table (yum!).
DDR (domaine de rhodes) offers a relaxing pace away from all the hustle and bustle of the city and yet never too far from where the action is.
My friend and I drove to Uzes, Pont du Gard, Godes, village de Bories, Abbaye de Senanque, followed the lavander trail on our way to Sault and visited Aix en PCE. Truly a wonderful experience because of the wonderful sceneries and the helpful people in the region and most especially Francoise and Paco who helped us every step of the way.
Will strongly recommend DDR to family, friends and solo travellers!

My wife and I own a restaurant, and understand the challenges of being in the Hospitality Industry. The owners of Domaine de Rhodes Francoise and Paco remain the ultimate hosts. Read the other reviews and you will find all of their guests express wonderful experiences. Ours was not an exception. We hope to meet Francoise and Paco again, either in Provence or the great Northwest in Washington State.

My wife and I plus two friends recently spent ten days at the Domaine de Rhodes. We cannot say enough good things about this wonderful establishment. The owners are a husband and wife team who you would love to have as friends and neighbors. The building is a beautifully restored sixteenth century hunting lodge with all of the modern conveniences one could want. We stayed in the room Vilar and our friends stayed in the room Mistral. Both of these rooms have ample space and great bathrooms. Both are equipped with air conditioning. Each day the rooms were meticulously cleaned. The beds are extremely comfortable. The morning breakfast was the highlight of each day as we enjoyed a typical European breakfast in the company of the owners who make you feel like part of their family. The location can't be beat, particularly if you are looking to stay in the country but close to everything. I spent many wonderful hours running on the roads of the island where the B&B is located just across from Avignon and these were hours well spent. The beauty and tranquility of this place is almost breathtaking. Being able to return to the Domaine de Rhodes each day after sightseeing throughout the region was truly like coming back home. We are already planning a return visit for next year and we will make this our home away from home each time we visit Provence.
