“Excellent customer service”
Reviewed 26 October 2013

We stayed at this hotel October 20-22, 2013. On Monday, October 21st I purchased the wrong item for my camera from an electronics shop. When I went down to the front desk to use some scissors to open the package, I realized my error. Yoann was manning the front desk and immediately offered the assistance of his associate C. Pementine to return to the store with me to explain the error and to help facilitate a return. She graciously accompanied me and the return went very smoothly thanks to her help.

These two employees were very helpful and kind. I was surprised at their offer to have her accompany me to the store and their kindness in helping me correct my error. Both have excellent attitudes and were very welcoming. They made a big difference in my stay.

Room Tip: The rooms are tight space-wise.

We were first checked into a room on the third floor. The mattress STUNK. Like old gym shorts / old wet socks or something like that. We asked to be moved, and our new room was fine in all respects.

The location is perfect. Dunno why people have been whining about the stairs up from parking. If you park on P1 like the signs say, there's about 10 small steps..

This was my trip to Avignon and I was meeting family friends. The location of the hotel is superb for visting the city - right on the corner of the main square and almost next door to the palace. The refurb was almost complete when I was there and it was making it a comfortable hotel. There were a number of tour groups staying here as well, but this didn't really bother me and was not overwhelming at all. Overall a lovely hotel in a great location (with the car park only about 300m away).

We had booked another hotel in Avignon (the Danieli) but could not possible stay there as it was extremely sub-par. So we found the Mercure up the street and the first room we asked to view was quite small as many hotel rooms are in France, but very clean and bright and we loved the location. We decided to upgrade from the 160eu to 190eu per night and it was well worth it. The room was very spacious and clean, upgraded amenities and a wrought iron balcony overlooking the main square. We were so close to the many restaurants and attractions it was ideal and the rooms were quiet despite being so central. Coffee service and mini bar in the room were handy, heated towel racks in the bathroom and very nice linens. The staff were very friendly and helped us with directions and information. We had dinner that night in the hotel restaurant which was quite good and is part of the many outdoor cafes in the square. At that point we (Canadians) were unaware that tipping in France is not the norm, which explains why a 15euro tip left our server puzzled but extremely happy! Loved this hotel and the whole experience in Avignon.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a larger room with balcony as it is well worth the experience, very romantic.

The location is fantastic, just closed to the Palace des Papes. Staff is quite friendly. We could enjoy 20% off for the parking, around 8 euros per day. Just give the parking ticket to the reception. We lived in 414 and needs to go downstairs after using elevator.

Great location, couldn't be better. Right in the centre of the old town. Room 416 with double French doors with balcony right next to the popes palace. Accommodation good with adequate breakfast, clean and well serviced. Staff at reception not interested and house keeper walked into our room un announced without knocking which was very off putting. Other than that would recommend.
