“Great Location - Comfortable Room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2010

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it was very comfortable, clean, and quiet except for the elevator noise, which I now think it was a service elevator. The hotel is just off the main square and it was quiet and the window in the room was well insulated and when closed it kept out all outside noise. The elevator noise stopped eventually late at night and of course started up again in the a.m. and while it was annoying it wasn't enough to complain about. We use a "white noise" machine so we just turned it up louder. The bathroom had a nice shower/tub, nice toiletries and it was roomy, fairly modern and very clean. The room was not overly large but it was comfortable just the same and the hotel provided a coffee/tea service in the room.
We did not have breakfast at the hotel because it was so easy to find reasonably priced food on the main street. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful

We had a one night stay here in August en route to Gordes. The hotel location is excellent- we managed to do a whistle stop tour of Avignon from here and had a lovely meal in the square in the evening. Hotel is fairly standard, but has everything you need for a stop over. Staff were very helpful. Would recommend.

Very small room, extremely small shower place, not suitable for any person over 5'3". I think the hotel needs a big renovation. Not worth to pay Euro 142 per room per night for a standard room.

Location is nothing in Avignon city centre because it is very small, all shops and sight seeing places, restaurants are within walking distance.

Disappointed with the hotel, will not recommend it to anyone.

We found this hotel by chance whilst driving through Avignon. The rates were a bit more expensive than we would have paid, but it was well worth it. We got upgraded as they weren't very busy that night and can say that the room was very pleasant, spacious and had a nice view over the square. The bathroom was very spacious and we had plenty of hot water. The restaurants are all within walking distance as is the palais des papes. We didn't take a breakfast at the hotel but had one in one of the restaurants nearby which was very nice whilst sitting in the sun. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely go back again.

This hotel has a great location and the room was nice. A big negative is the air conditioning. They say it is turned on, but, it must have been 85 degrees in our rooms. I complained to the front desk and when I returned to the hotel six hours later hoping to get some relief the staff had opened the window and left the shades up.

The front desk is very unresponsive to any problems that occur.

This hotel is right beside Palais Des Papes and in the very centre of Avignon. It is the perfect location for seeing the city. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are a reasonable size and very clean. Rooms have air-conditioning so windows can be closed to keep out noise. Breakfast is a good selection from the buffet. There is a selection of good outdoor restaurants immediately outside the hotel. There is no parking outside the hotel. However parking is available in the nearby underground public car park (3 minutes walk). On arrival in Avignon access to this car park is through Port Du Rocher (beside Pont D'Avignon) and cost €10 per day (special rate for hotel). Would recommend this hotel to anyone and would certainly return.

I'm writing this review quite late - as it was actually 2003 when I stayed there. The staff was English speaking, helpful and friendly. I would rate this hotel a three star - at LEAST. The rooms were spacious, clean, nicely decorated. The bathroom a large tiled expanse of beauty. We were literally a stones throw from the Palaise du Papes (not sure I spelled that correctly), and the large town square with many choices for meals al fresco. We still talk about that hotel as the only one we stayed in during our 10 day trip that was an exceptional value for the location, service, and comfort of the room!
