We stayed at this hotel three nights. There was no AC. temperatures in June in Avignon are in the 80's. They blamed the problem on the road work. So, OK. How long can this last? Reading other reviews here it seems like it is an ongoing issue with this hotel. When you try to talk to the people at the reception you get the feeling they cannot wait to get rid of you. Except for the person who checked us in, it seemed like nobody had the patience to talk to the customer.
The parking is awful. Very tight spaces in an underground creepy area. And it costs additional 10 euro per night. You have to validate your ticket every time you want to leave. 2 out of the 3 times we wanted to leave the garage, the validation "did not work". So, while my husband stayed in the car, I had to run back to the reception for additional validation. How difficult can this be??? Why do I need to waste my time?
The elevators are so slow. The breakfast area seems like a war zone. Apparently they have many tour groups, and the breakfast staff seems completely overwhelmed.
We were very disappointed.

The hotel may look good but the lack of AC and the vacuum that the courtyard creates for noise until 2 am.. not worth an ounce of your time and money. When we called for fans or to make sure the noise was managed, the staff handled it poorly. When we complained upon check out it seemed no one cared. I will never stay at a Novotel again. Terrible service and no empathy.

Nice position just outside the city walls. Room clean with 2 opening windows - what a treat. Excellent Shower, Swimming Pool nice size and fairly quiet so had a lovely swim. Breakfast had an excellent selection however sometimes over run with coach parties which made getting a reasonable selection of food difficult however the staff did their best to clear tables and refresh items. Excellent fresh orange juice machine, All staff we came into contact with were pleasant and helpful,

There was much fanfare about the opening of the 'Patio' restaurant , and we prepaid for dinner when booking. Unfortunately it was a disappointment and seems to bow to the fad for 'bowl' food. The payment amount was more than the menu price in the restaurant. Fortunately, the staff eventually understood my frustration when I tried to explain to them to rip up the pre-paid voucher and I will pay for what I want, not the fixed menu selection . From memory I think it was a choice of 2 starters and 2 mains. My wife does not eat red meat and so there was no real choice for her.
It was all sorted with good grace by the end of the meal, but the restaurant is pretty much uninspiring and is more like a cafe.
