We spent two nights here in October. The hotel accommodations, service and amenities were excellent and the location is perfect for walking to all major attractions or the downtown area of Avignon. The private courtyard is a great place for a drink or snack and a short rest. The breakfast buffet is extensive and delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.

We spent three nights here in October. The hotel is charming, and somewhat faded, as old hotels tend to be. The reception staff are top-notch and went above and beyond getting information for us during the on-again-off again rail strike. Thank you, Anna! The restaurant recommendations were spot on.

We stayed in a standard room overlooking the courtyard, and found it to be a great bargain, having just arrived from Paris. There was plenty of space and we loved the bathroom--
great amenities,robes,and towels.

We'd like any excuse to go back to Avignon just to stay at this hotel.

Excellent hotel, located in front of Place Crillon, in the heart of Avignon, at a walking distance of the main Avignon attractions. Beautiful and cozy atrium, where stands a splendid tree, dating back to 1735. Very large, clean and comfortable room, with an excellent bathroom. We stayed in a Classic Room, for two nights. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast with many options and flavors. Payed car parking.

Estacionamento pago.

We stayed 3 night in this Hotel.
Situation is very good near the lovely Place Crillon, 5mn both from Palais des Papes and Pont d'Avignon.
Staff is very nice and efficient. Our room was spacious and very clean.
We have been disappointed by the room which is not a 5* standard at all, even hardly a 4*: gloomy lighting, old but definitely not classy furnitures, not comfortable and small bed.
Some of the common areas are not at 5* level (...this horrible ceiling in the lobby).
We had a good stay, but a 5* at a 5* rate must be perfect. It is not perfect.

We are actually currently staying at the Hotel d'Europe in Avignon and this hotel is so great I needed to write the review while we are still here. Everyone from the front desk to the bell boy have been extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone at the front desk has spoken perfect English and have been very helpful getting dinner reservations and taxi cabs. The best thing however is the room - we stayed in room 102 and it is so beautiful and very large. In the also very large bathroom there are actually fluffy soft towels that go around my body, not like the wash cloths I got in the Paris hotel we stayed in. There are also bathrobes and slipper as well as toiletries in the bathroom - shampoo, nail file, shoe horn, need I go on? I was so excited- again not like the hotel in Paris where I used the miniature bar of soap to wash my hair.
The location is wonderful and the ambiance is beautiful. It is a 15 minute walk to the train station and a 8 minutes to walk to the Pope's Palace.
We will definitely make a point to stay here again - we have been to France many times and this has been the nicest stay by far. Four thumbs up from my husband and myself!

We stayed in this hotel overnight and were most impressed. For the most part, it has very tastefully has preserved the charm of an ancient building, with lovely antique decorative objets, while providing all the modern comforts. The room wasn't too cramped, the bathroom was functional with a great shower - just a pity they used cheap looking porcelain tiles instead of stone to go with the marble benchtops. The staff were very friendly and most helpful, finding bubble wrap for us at short notice. You need to plan to eat breakfast here unless you are a very late riser, because there is nothing available on the square adjacent. The enclosed courtyard is absolutely stunning with a very old wisteria vine climbing the stone walls around the huge plane tree planted in 18th century.

We stayed here over the Labor day holiday and three things that struck as: The staff, The staff, the staff! We have found that most hotels in Europe that have old world charm, lack the warmth. This hotel has both and a great location too! I would like to single out a gentleman named Fernando at the front desk that did an outstanding job helping us with directions, restaurant recos or just generally chit chatting. The kind of person you would meet at inn and make you feel welcome everyday that you come back. Overall a great stay and once again, wonderful staff! Would come back and stay any time!
