Stayed here 2 nights. This is such a beautiful old hotel with a history that dates back to to 17th century! Our room was not in the main building but we had our own private entry off the beautiful courtroom and room on the road which was quiet due to double glazing. Room was very large and sumptuous and extremely well appointed.Lovely bathroom and Internet available. Decorated in classic old world charm...very comfy bed and air con a bonus! Staff very friendly and helpful..valet parking such a bonus in his narrow roaded walled city. This hotel is well located to all the shopping, restaurants, and tourist attractions. 5 star luxury ...very affordable.. A must stay!

We stayed here twice on either end of a Rhone river cruise. It is very centrally located just inside the western wall and a few minutes walk from most of what tourists want to see in Avignon. Although both times we were in a "regular" room, our first room on the second floor was considerably larger than the room we had subsequently, with a big bathroom sporting dual vanities. This room I would rate as an excellent value for the money. The second one on the first floor was rather smaller, albeit with most of the same amenities. It was somewhat less expensive but didn't seem quite as special.

Regardless of which room, the staff was uniformly friendly and helpful. We found the courtyard a wonderful, restful place for breakfast or drinks, or just waiting for a cab (around 15€ to the TGV station). The hotel itself was fun to explore with many interestingly decorated nooks and crannies. Internet was fast during both stays. I would definitely recommend the Hotel d'Europe.

Our two night stay in this lovely old world hotel was most enjoyable. Our room was very quiet, comfortable and in a great location. The staff were friendly and attentive. We'd definitely be happy to stay at Hotel d'Europe again.

My husband and I had a beautiful room and bath that was well appointed and well designed, down to the light switches. The hotel itself is graceful and spacious, with a picturesque courtyard (with a Sycamore tree planted in 1735!) where we had breakfast every morning and drinks at night. There are two internet stations for guests to use as well. The staff was very sweet. We were here in August and the dining room was closed for vacation, but there was no lack of places to eat. Avignon is a great place to explore and a convenient jumping off base for day trips. The best part is that when you make it back to the hotel after a long day of driving around Provence, they take your key and park the car for you, and then bring it around when you want it the next day. I would come back again in a heartbeat.

Great location. We were able to see many Provence villages easily in our rented car from this location. Pont du Gard, Bridge of Avignon very closeby and not to be missed. Hotel is lovely with a Michelin star restaurant that served a memorable dinner. The hotel staff could not be nicer. The room took you back centuries yet meeting modern needs. I see why Charles Dickens and Napoleon stayed here!

My husband and I spent 3 nights here. What a magical hotel. It has a long history. In fact, we were told Napolean had stayed here at one time. The rooms are huge with authentic period furniture. The bathroom---let's just say I could have spent the whole trip just luxuriating in the
bathroom. It is located in the center of Avignon. They have their own private courtyard with lots of trees, that opens up on one of the many squares in the City. These squares have entertainment, restaurants and shops. We couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more!!

Excellent old hotel near the Papal Palace. The hotel is traditionally furnished which provided a level of elegance that is difficult to find nowadays. There is a beautiful open staircase that descends into the reception area. The coup 'd grace is the enclosed courtyard where one can enjoy a late night coffee under illuminated trees. The service personnel were very polite and are familiar with the history of this fine, old hotel.
