We absolutely loved this historic hotel which has a great authentic ambience. It is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, cafes and historical landmarks.
The staff were extremely friendly and very efficient and accommodating in their unique red dresses and casual shirts, yet with efficient professionalism. Our room was large and apparently is referred to as the room that Napoleon had slept in- he had only left a story behind when he left!!!
The courtyard is relaxing with a massive shade tree and quiet areas set up for drinks/ coffees / breakfasts / meals or just a chat. One night we were there, there was a piano player and much fun was had by guests and visitors as we sang both French and English songs - sensational
An absolute gem of a hotel.

We WISH we had stayed at this stunning hotel. We popped in for tea and lunch on their beautiful terrace. The staff were outstanding. The prices are reasonable not cheap but you’re paying for the service and quality. Free valet parking even though we aren’t staying.

Stop by it’s not to be missed.

This hotel was our second stop on our trip to France and we were so pleased with our accommodations. The hotel is located right inside the wall and is within easy walking distance of everything. The hotel is beautifully appointed and the rooms are really lovely, very French. The staff was friendly and helpful and helped make our stay very nice. Highly recommend Hotel d’Europe if you are traveling around Avignon. We took the TGV from Paris to Avignon.

After flying from SF to Paris and taking the TGV to Avignon we arrived in this Oasis in the old city of Avignon. The hotel room was very spacious, room 104, overlooking a gorgeous courtyard. It was 8:30pm so we walked the town a bit then settled into a cozy table back at the hotel terrace. There were many French locals at nearby tables reinforcing to us we picked the right spot. The prices for food and wine were very reasonable and the atmosphere just perfect for a night in Provence. The next morning we awoke early to an amazing breakfast of warmly baked bread and fresh local cheeses. They had many fresh fruits and the coffee was perfect. So sad we could only be here one night. We will be back.

I can say that our overall experience was excellent. Room was large and clean. Location was good for getting in and out of Avignon to tour the area. Good restaurants in the area around the hotel. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Staff were very helpful. Due to the train strike we had to cut our visit short. Which was disappointing, because we enjoyed our stay here very much.

Room Tip: The Classic rooms are a great value.
