“Great location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 September 2013

The hotel was very convenient, located inside the walled city and on a quiet street. We were a little disappointed in the rooms. We had booked a double room but got 2 twins as did the couple we were with. We had a shower stall but they just had a tub with a hand held shower. This is a lovely old hotel but the rooms need to be updated.

Located in a quiet street but very close to the town, this hotel is well placed for exploring Avignon on foot. The staff were extremely helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. The shower didn't work well and needed to be hand held which could be an improved upon. The plumbing sounds from other guests can be very noisy and we could hear people in the room above when they were showering, flushing the toilet and also talking. This may depend on the room. Having said that, for price and convenience we'd stay here again.

The hotel is very well located for visiting the town, a fairly quiet location and with its own parking (although limited). There is also parking on-street but payant from 9 - 19:00 with a three-hour maximum.

The hotel is fine, has everything needed, but some rooms are quite small. At the front the rooms overlook the main road. They are double-windowed (two sets of french doors rather than double-glazed) with the usual shutters so are quiet. As it is a very old building the small 3-person lift is an add-in, so the fire-escape is lovely with marble stairs and balustrade.

Staff are friendly; breakfast quite adequate; the hotel is value for money but not luxurious. Ideal for a business trip or a place to stay to explore Avignon if you are on a budget.

It serves a reasonable breakfast but has no restaurant, but the is not a problem as there are so many to choose from in the town, within a 10-minute walk.

The Palais di Papes is a 10 - 15 minute stroll, the Pont Saint Benezet another 5-10 minutes. Les Halles, a large indoor market, should not be missed.

Room Tip: It might be best to ask for a room away from the main road as they seemed to be larger,

This hotel has a really good location. It was right in the walled city and a short walk to all the main attractions. It was off a side street though so wasn't noisy or too busy. They also have a car park at the back of the hotel that is secure. We luckily had a park right in front on our first night so didn't need to use it but it was good to use on the second night. The hotel staff were very nice and although the rooms were very basic they were clean and fine. It was a good hotel for the price.

We arrived here a bit late.. the person working at the front desk helped us to find a parking spot.. and the room is big and so clean.. I am impressed by their service. I wish I could stay more nights there.. I noticed the location is so close to train station. I would recommend this hotel to my friends. and they also recommended us some good local restaurants. We loved the food. Thank you. The staffs are very helpful.. I think you would enjoy the stay at this hotel.. plus, if you check in early. you will have parking spot at their private parking.

Room Tip: be there early, they have a private parking

The hotel is a short walk from the train station and from the post office where the TGV shuttle bus stops.
There is a nice modern reception and the staff are helpful and have good english.
The room however, was disappointing with tired fixtures and fittings, no shower curtain or fixture for securing the shower head. There is a very small flat screened TV with no English channel. The place was clean.
The location is very good. Easy walking to most sites. Plenty of good local restaurants. Avignon is really well worth a visit.
