“Great for the price and location”

Finding accomodation in Avignon within our budget and taste was difficult, but this hotel was perfect for our needs. We stayed 2 nights in a ground floor room that appeared to have been renovated recently. The view out of the window was on to the back hotel carpark and over to the Carmelite nuns convent, so at night it was a quiet neighbourhood.

The hotel is just inside the walls of the city, far enough away from the maddening crowds, and an easy walk to the attractions. We caught the local bus from the TGV station which drops you off by the wall on the outside, then it is only a 5 minute walk to the hotel.

Each morning we had the buffet continent breakfast for 8 euro each, there is plenty to eat but the meals room lacks atmosphere, I would suggest that there needs to be some classical music/TV on to create an inviting atmosphere.

Our room was light and clean, serviced daily.

We stayed at the hotel for one night and found it very conveiently located. The rooms were spotlessly clean, but a little worn. We had a small TV which was wall mounted and a non-working remote. The air-conditioning was a plus as it was quite hot that day. To the Palais of Papes is about a 10-15 minute easy walk,
on leaving the hotel turn right and go to the main street and turn left...you can't miss it. To get to the bus station, turn right on leaving the hotel go about two blocks and turn right again. Walk towards the ramparts and just before the gate turn left and you're right there. We took the bus to the TGV station and picked up our car there. The rental car lot is easy to find, enter the TGV station at the main entrance walk across the station and exit. The rental car lot is right in front of you.

Back to the hotel, I would stay here agin, but only for a very limited stay or if I was on a strict budget.

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights. Our room was comfortable, but did not have a fridge, but had a large bathroom. We chose this hotel as it was near the train and bus station, as we wished to travel out each day. It was also close to some restaurants, and we had some great nights at the Irish pub at the end of our street watching the European cup.The staff were really friendly and hepful, and were thrilled to use the internet free of charge at any time we wanted.. We didnt try their breakfast. As budget travellers, the price was good, and we got real value for our money. Put a fridge in the room, and it would be tops. Avignon town was very interesting and clean, unfortunately the bus station was disgusting, and the prices and timetables of the buses were not tourist friendly, to visit the surrounding villages.

We'd a room for four which we used for a stop over for one night. The room was clean, had comfortable beds and the hotel felt safe. The room was however a bit bare with a lino floor. It was air conditioned. The bathroom was old and the shower fitting broken. The TV was wall mounted about seven feet off the floor and was tiny with a broken remote control!

The hotel had free secure parking but was limited and allocated on a first come basis.

The staff were friendly enough and spoke some English.

The hotel is located about 5 minutes walk off the main shopping street and near to and within the city walls. The Palais is about 15 minutes walk away along the main shopping street.

We'd probably not stay there again as there is plenty of choice around for an under €100 stop pver hotel.

  • Liked — Reasonable price and fairly good location
  • Disliked — The hotel was a bit tired

While this hotel is technically located within the old city ramparts, it's fairly far away from the city center. To get to the major attractions, you have to walk about 15 minutes. The hotel was old and looked run-down; the room was small and the bathroom had a strange layout. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and they had free Internet access on a terminal in the lobby. Another good aspect (especially given the hot weather) was the in-room air conditioning.

It's inexpensive, but that's about it.

The room was large but bare and uninviting. It's really only a place to sleep -- you don't want to spend much time there.

The bathroom was large but felt very cold in its colors -- and the toilet was in its own room without a sink.

The staff was all right -- except for the night we locked ourselves out of our room. They had no way to get us back in because the front desker thought the man with the key had taken it home and was asleep. We made him check every key and finally found one that let us in, but it looked like we were going to have stay somewhere else.

It's on a quiet street, I guess, but I wouldn't really recommend it.

We decided to stay at this hotel because of the reviews on trip advisor and because of the price. The room was nice and clean and overlooked a nice courtyard. Of course, it was small according to US standards, but was comfy enough. The bathroom was tiny, too with only a shower, but this was fine. There was a bit of a smell from the WC, but we just kept the door closed. Free wifi and free carpark. Staff was friendly. Walking distance to town on a very quiet street.
