Our recent stay at the Hotel Blauvac was a disappointment. The location is good, near the square and within walking distance of the central car park, but the furnishings were shoddy and the bed was terribly uncomfortable. One of the best guide books lists this hotel as "luxury". Do not be deceived - look elsewhere.

We stayed at this hotel for five days. It was booked for us through a tour company and I had not read these reviews before we left. It is a charming-looking hotel with modern bathrooms and high ceilings near the city center. Within a day of staying at the hotel, I started to notice bites, but first thought it was just mosquitoes or something else. The bites continued to get worse and more plentiful, so I went to the pharmacy, where they were positive that the bites were from bed bugs. I complained to the hotel and they changed my sheets and sprayed something, but were unable to switch my room until the next night. After 3 nights in the room, I had about 150 bites mostly on my arms, but also on my face, torso, and legs. It was an itchy, awful experience. In my opinion, the charm isnt worth it- avoid this hotel.

We were very happy here. We had a 3-person room (#9) which had a 20-foot high ceiling and two walls of exposed stone. The third person gets a single bed in the loft above the entry hall and bath (but with a 20' ceiling, even the loft had a 10' ceiling). The location is great. We were there on a Friday and Saturday night, with our window overlooking Rue Bancasse. It was the last weekend in April (so not yet the high season), but very quiet and peaceful.

We already had a reservation when we read the reviews mentioning bedbugs. We didn't like any of the other options still available at that point, so emailed the hotel. They assured us the problem had been solved. We held our breath, kept our reservation, and stayed. There was no sign of any pests, so it did seem that they had gotten rid of the unwelcome bugs.

At any rate, we'd definitely recommend you give this a try. The location, charm, and price made for a great combination, and the hotel seemed to have solved the one strike against it.

We stayed as a family and although it was quite lovely as a place my husbands bed had bed bugs ( he was covered in tracks; over 40 bites and managed to kill one). One member of the staff was delightful and very helpful with storing our huge amounts of luggage. The breakfast was pretty poor quality and very expensive ( fruit was wrinkly and old and cheese and ham were very poor quality compared to what we were used to in france and the surrounding cafes). It is in a good position in town and close to train station

A surprisingly cute hotel with a grand staircase circling up to about 16 rooms. We had a nice triple room, one double and a single, space for a cot, bathroom was newly refurbished with walk-in shower. Breakfast was standard, easy walking distance to all central areas and sights, space to leave luggage during the day.

Nice small, reasonably priced hotel close to Papal Palace and most other tourist attractions in Avignon. Hotel is clean and quiet. Only drawback is parking which is 400/500 metres away and access to the hotel is via a pedestrian street.

No elevator up to the fourth floor (or any floor)
No Bell Hops or luggage assistance
No free WIFI
No laundry service
No breakfast included

We opened the window and in wafted the smell of cooking fish.

We checked out within an hour, paid the required fee for two nights out of the four and found a delighrful hotel across the square in Avignon
