We found the rooms in this old townhouse full of character, clean, and nicely updated - the baths are quite modern and comfortable. There was an A/C unit but we didn't use it; we heard some street noise in the mornings but it didn't bother us. There are no bedbugs in room #7 at least. The location - yes, on an alley, but steps away from one of the central square - was great, near everything. I do wish there were hairdryers. We felt perfectly safe, very welcome. We would return and recommend to others.

Great location relative to its closeness to everything in Avignon and we found the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel itself has a lot of character and our room was pretty cool. 20 ft ceilings made the room feel a lot larger than it was.

I will confirm what others have noted that if there is a racket outside you will hear it. There was some drama outside the last night I was there at 3am (I think when the bars were closing) where some girl broke up with her boyfriend and it was lke she was balling in our room! Also, the walls are paper thin between rooms as well! We had a singing father and son (bizarre!) next door to us that sang a ditty for about 15 minutes one night that was somewhat distracting....In summary, I would definitely stay here again but would definitely bring air plugs!

This was our second stay here and we were impressed with the updates to the bathrooms, definitely a top notch job making them very chic and functional. The bedrooms were huge and the room we had also contained a balcony for an additional single bed. The medieval style of the building in general is kind of neat. The breakfast area is cozy and breakfast is simple but good with a selection of meat and cheese on a baguette. The traditional croissant and coffee are also available. I find the location perfect to get to shopping and a 10-12 minute walk to the train station is a breeze on nice paved side walk except for the first couple of blocks which are cobblestone.
I would definitely stay here again. The lady who runs the place must be superhuman as she was there everyday with a smile!

If your not expecting anything but a bed and shower then this is fine. Near the centre of things but I can't see me rushing back.

I stayed one night at this hotel and found it to be less than average. The room was dark and somewhat depressing, the bed wasn't very comfortable, no air conditioning, and the street was really noisy. I could hear garbage trucks and people talking on the streets at 6 AM. I had to park the car at a lot that was a 10 minute walk from the hotel. I stuck it out for a night but wouldn't recommend it. There were a few nice things about the hotel. The receptionist was very sweet and helpful. She recommended an excellent restaurant where we enjoyed an amazing dinner paired with the best chateneuf-du-pape wine! The location is also good. A five minute walk from everything.

Beautiful historical palace, great location. The hotel facilities were not great: no lift, no a/c, no hairdrier, hardly any plugs as it is a protected building. Parking on the street impossible but hotel guests get 40% discount at a nearby parking. Internet not free. Staff was acceptable, overall fairly average value for money.
