The Grand, despite its name, describes itself as an "Apartment Hotel". Certainly the first room we were shown was a two storey suite with a spiral staircase from the living room up to the bedrooms though oddly the bathroom was downstairs which would have meant a treacherous journey in the middle of the night when only half awake.
We decided that, as we are both elderly and disabled, the room was not what we required so there was no probem switching us to a pleasant suite with a sitting room, a bedroom with a comforable bed and a spacious bathroom all on one floor, We had a good view from our rooms of the walls of the city.
The drawbacks to the Hotel were very few toiletries in the bathroom, no bottled water available so we had to buy it from the Hotel bar, and the fact that the Hotel only provided breakfast so however weary we might be with sightseeing we had to go out for an evening meal. The breakfast waas adequate but not in any way special.
it is a sister Hotel of Cloitre Saint Louis which is inside the city walls and has an excellent restaurant which provides lunch and dinner as well as breakfasts so my choice on any further visit to this lovely city would be to stay at the Cloitre.More
