A perfect location in the heart of Avignon with wonderful service and excellent rooms. You couldn't ask for a better location when visiting Avignon. We loved waking up to the sound of church bells out our window. And the staff couldn't have ben more helpful and accommodating.

Used the hotel as a base for a quick trip to the south of France so only stayed overnight. Hotel was clean and comfortable and good value for the price. Bathrooms were quite small but was functional and clean.

The welcome was not very friendly from the front desk, was it because we were only staying overnight so they did not really want to bother? They do not even say hello when you come in the small lobby, a bit of a surprise for us since everyone has been friendly and welcoming in the other hotels we stayed at in this trip. Breakfast was quite good and the staff in the cafe was nice, so it made up for this frosty welcome!

We were fortunate to get a corner junior suite on the fourth floor and loved the accommodations. It was clean and comfortable. Our views over Place Horlage were great for people-watching. The breakfast each morning was wonderful, with a smiling, friendly attendant. The entire staff was helpful and friendly. The location was excellent, within easy walking distance to the Palais des Papes, shopping, and restaurants.

We wouldn't recommend the hotel if you're planning on peace and quiet. Go here to enjoy lovely Avignon and take in the wonderful, vibrant city. (The plaza noises are shut out when the windows are closed. Never a problem for us.)

We stayed here for one night in a Junior Suite. There was plenty of room and even though we looked directly out onto the square it was quiet. Every single thing we needed was thought of and I would recommend this lovely place to anyone visiting Avignon.
All staff we encountered were fantastic and helpful.
Their sunny breakfast room is great as was the brekky itself.
We parked in the underground car park a few blocks away after dropping our luggage off first.
The location is so handy to everything and we wished we could have stayed longer than one night.

Room Tip: Get a Junior Suite if you can

We stayed at the Hotel de 'Horlage for 2 nights after arriving by train from Paris. The delightful hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of the town square and within walking distance of the Palais des Papes, excellent shopping, and numerous cafes and restaurants.
Our clean and compact room overlooked a side street so it was quiet most of the time. The staff were helpful and efficient but the foyer is rather small.
We ate breakfast at the sunny and spacious restaurant and although reasonably expensive, it was a great way to start the day.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit the beautiful town of Avignon.

stayed there for 2 nights, Easter Sunday and Monday. It is very comfortable, clean and the staff was very accommodating of our needs. It is definitely an older property, so don't expect any sprawling lobbies or common areas; it is cozy! The location was perfect for exploring Avignon and so right on the city square. Parking is difficult; we rented a car after arriving in Avignon, but in retrospect, should have delayed the car rental until AFTER we left Avignon, as we had to park in a structure about 6 blocks away and schlep our bags to the hotel in the rain--better to pay for taxis than parking while staying in the city. Overall, we would stay here again and would recommend to others, but recommend you take a bus or train to get there, then rent a car when you leave the city.

In late April this year we spent 4 days/nights in Avignon at the Hotel de l'Horloge, and the experience was just lovely. Hotel staff are very warm, welcoming, friendly and knowledgable and, overall, the hotel is delightful. Hotel de l'Horloge is in a great location - right in the lovely square near the Palais des Papes - and is central to everything you might need. Rooms - of course, it IS France! - can be on the small side, but try for 407 or 412 and you get a lovely sitting area with lots of windows, light and views. No parking unfortunately, but there's a huge underground parking station nearby, and the hotel gets a guest discount. Would happily recommend Hotel de l'Horloge to friends, and most likely will stay there again when next in Avignon. The Wright & Dalgleish families - April 2014.

Room Tip: Definitely 407 or 412, but a top floor suite - with terrace overlooking the Palais des Papes - would...
