We both enjoyed our stay at Hotel Garlande. It was reasonably priced and located in the Avignon city center. You can easily catch a public bus from the Avignon TGV to the Avignon train station and walk to the hotel. For the return trip however you need to catch the public bus from a stop near the post office to get to the Avignon TGV. You can buy a cheap ticket off the bus driver. The hotel was nice and quiet, had comfortable beds and a good air conditioner for the summer. The only thing is that our room was located up a narrow winding staircase, which if you had mobility issues or lots of luggage could be an problem, I did see rooms on the ground floor though. The staff were very helpful in assisting my sister and I upstairs with our bags. We would stay here again.

Lovely family run hotel in Avignon which had everything we were looking for - friendly service, comfortable, quiet, air-conditioned and located close to everything you would like to see in Avignon. We had a great two night stay and would recommend to anyone. Emmanuelle goes above and beyond, for example, I accidentally left a pillow there and she posted it to our next hotel the very next day. Thank you everyone at Hotel Garlande!

My mom and I recently stayed at the Hotel Garlande in June for 4 nights. The hotel is very conveniently located for all the main sites, tourist office, and Centre train station. The rooms were very spacious and clean with lovely decor that made you feel at home and relaxed. The owners of the hotel were very helpful. As soon as we arrived we were given advice on what to see and Emmanuelle helped direct us to a shop where my mom could get her luggage repaired. They also graciously called to check on our daytrip tours to make sure we were picked up at the right location. All in all it was a wonderful stay in Avignon.

We absolutely loved our stay at the hotel Garlande. When we arrived Emmanuelle called her son to carry our bags to our room as there is no elevator. But the lack of an elevator was a very minor inconvenience. My wife who had a recent knee replacement had no trouble with the stairs. There were four of us and we stayed in the family room. The room was clean and very quaint. There was more than enough room for the four of us(adults) and we did not feel crowded at all. When we travel we rarely eat breakfast at the hotel, but though we would try it the first morning we were at the hotel. We were not disappointed!! We end up eating breakfast at the hotel each morning we were there. Emmanuelle had a table waiting for us when we got downstairs each morning. The homemade yogurt and jams were fantastic as were the breads and fruit. The hosts were very gracious and helpful. We would and will stay here again.

Emmanuelle and Stephan are gracious hosts and serve a very nice breakfast with excellent pastries and jams that comes with the room. Our room was basic but quite lovely and the price can't be beat. Both Stephan and Emmanuelle spoke excellent English and provided us with good tips about a day trip out into lavender country. We arrived by car during the annual festival and so had to park first and wheel our bags from the parking garage at Palais des Papes -- about a 5-10 minute walk. It was a bit inconvenient, but in fairness, Emmanuelle had given us fair warning. We would certainly return.

Madam Emmanuelle runs a great little boutique hotel only a couple of blocks off the main square and provides caring and service with aplomb in English. Easy walk to the train station, tourist office, and many cafes. A longer walk to the spectacular Palace of the Popes, the Petit Palais Museum and the St. Benezet Bridge which stops abruptly in the middle of the Rhone. But that's another story.

The rooms are small, of course, but some of the baths are quite large. So ask for a room with a full bath. We only paid around 100 euro per night (three nights). Paid extra for a tasty light breakfast each morning before starting out on our daily adventures. Check your map, because Rue Galante is short and tricky to find the first time.

All the French folks we met in Avignon were pleasant, friendly, helpful and sharing -- like which wines were best to drink at lunch. Or dinner. Enjoy!! JK

We had a nice stay at hotel de garlande for one night in July. It was a great spot for exploring the city and was reasonably priced with a charming room in a very old building! Bonus on the free wifi. Emmanuelle and Stephan (owners) were great, spoke wonderful English and were very helpful in making suggestions.
