“A great stop for tourists and a must for those staying in Avignon”
Reviewed 10 May 2013

Tucked away in the far corner of the interior of the remparts, behind the university, Cami-Li is a gem. For book lovers you will find everything from cheap reads to collector's items in almost any subject from the esoteric to classic children's books.

A stroll off the beaten track (~15 min walk from Place d'Horloge) you get to relax in the warmth with a cup of tea and cake or the cool of the courtyard in summer. All the cakes are homemade and there's a new selection every day and the prices are very reasonable. For those staying in Avignon, Camille's soirees attract a thoughtful and interesting crowd and it's a great place to meet people and find out what's going on. Definitely rate Cami-Li as a great place to extend beyond the commercial tourist track.

“Great trove of old books”
Reviewed 2 May 2013

It's a nice cozy cafe bookstore, a great stop from all the sight seeing. When we were there, on a cold wet day, there wasn't much english sweet treats, too bad for us. The books are a gem though. There is a nice selection of children's new books. Also found 2 old books with really beautiful illustration and defintely a keeper (Bambi and Peter Pan) at only 5 euros each. There is a small table with stools for kids. On a warm sunny day, the terrace on the back of the store would be lovely.
