Really enjoyed our stay in this Avignon B&B. The hosts were very gracious, and were able to both recommend restaurants and make phone reservations for us (turns out you need them on a busy weekend night with tourists pounding the streets looking for dinner!) Our room was beautifully furnished, both with nice decorations and with painted designs that were hundreds of years old. The establishment's dedication to chocolate was a nice touch, with a little bowl of chocolates for a welcoming gift and lovely, thick hot chocolate for breakfast (which otherwise consisted of cut fruit, yogurt, packaged cheese, and an assortment of breads).

Travelers considering this location might want to know:
1) There's not a prominent street sign for the B&B, because of historical zoning, so you really need to find the address and follow directions to get there. We walked up and down the right street several times before we thought to look up the house number, after which we found it easily.
2) Our room was furnished with a bathtub and shower attachment, but not a standing shower. Some travelers might want one.
3) Our room was rather dimly lit at night, which made it slightly difficult to read guidebooks. However, there are lovely well-lit sitting rooms which make up for it.
4) This is a historical building, in a historical neighborhood. The building has no elevator (which I loved, because it was more authentically historic), and the streets would be very difficult to drive through if you're searching for this location in a car. But it was quite close to the Palais de Papes, with its large adjacent parking lot, which we found very convenient for parking our rental car overnight and enjoying day trips.

We recently stayed at La Banasterie B&B for 3 nights. The location is very close to the sights of Avignon, but is miles away from the hustle and bustle of the main drag. The rooms are unique and charming, with interesting appointments, chocolates and a complimentary bottle of wine. The host is charming and helpful, especially with restaurant and shopping recommendations. Breakfast consists of fresh fruit, yogurt, a lovely assortment of freshly baked goods, coffee/tea with hot chocolate available on request. My only complaint is that the scent sticks in the room were a little overwhelming, so remember to take your antihistamines if you have allergies.
A place I would stay at again.

We stayed in the Guanaja room. It was lovely with great décor making the room look "old" but feeling just right. The bed was very comfortable. The room has a tub with a hand held shower , and no shower curtain, making it interesting to bathe. Nearby there was a public room with a sofa for the guests' use. The breakfast was very good (yogurt, fresh bread, cheese) and served in a charming dining room. The host was gracious and gave us many recommendations for dinner. The location was very convenient to all the top sites. We walked everywhere, no need to use the car. I would certainly stay there again when in Avignon.

Room Tip: Guanaja room was very quiet. It faces the interior courtyard on the second floor.

If you are looking for a hotel with all the facilities - the average and impersonal place to stay - this is not the place. If you are looking for something unique, with lots of charm and beautiful details, then choose La Banasterie! We stayed there two nights and will come back if we are in the region. The host was very helpful and gave us valuable information about restaurants and parking. Very good location.

La Banasterie, it is a very nice charming antique place (design is very unique). The location is wonderful, just several minutes from the Pope palace and from the famous bridge and very quite. The breakfast is very tasty (viennoiseries, fresh bread, cheese, marmelade, yogurt...) and could be served in the room!
Although we were with kids, we really enjoyed the place and the service.
But we think that this place is more recommend it for couples, perfect for a trip in Avignon in "amoureux".

Room Tip: The Sao Tome suite is a very confortable suite and very nice, the bathroom is big and new.

La Banasterie is a beautiful place with a great location right near the Pope's Palace. The continental breakfasts were delicious, as were the elegant chocolates and bottle of wine left for us.
The owners are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
We stayed there for 6 days and were very comfortable.
