“Not worth the few Euro saved.”

This hotel is in a great location and the desk clerks are all very nice, but that ends all of the positives of the hotel. The rooms (or at least the one we stayed in) are deplorable for the price. The floors were dirty, the light over the bed had a short that made it go in and out. The TV was a 13" tv mounted on the ceiling 10 feet away. The bathroom had mold in the shower and filthy grout on the floors. There was no shower curtain, and nothing to hold the shower head up - you had to hold it while showering and getting water all over the floor. After staying there for 2 days we moved to a similarly priced hotel down the block, also a 2 star hotel, that had much more satisfying conditions.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It was in great a location but was really bad value for money. The room was filthy, smelt of sewage and one night a cockroach appear from under the bed. The hotel is off the main street in avignon, which was great to get to the train station quickly but this also meant it was above lots of bars.. which played very loud music late into the night! not good. One last thing.. they made you leave your room key at the front desk and every time we came back to the hotel the guy had left the front door open and he was sat watching tv in the back room so we never felt safe leaving anything in our rooms. rediculously over priced and we had a bad time there. I hope they sort it out because it has the potential to be a good hostel.

previous reviews and vendor descriptions in this case were no indication of the true nature of this hotel - which is very much at the cheap and cheerful, backpacker end of the market, rather than suiting hotel-staying holiday makers

overall - value was ok but not great given the very basic level of accommodation - room was unfortunately dusty and shower fittings non-existent which account for my low cleanliness review - laughably uncomfortable beds - need ti wait (and wait) to be buzzed in at night by a grumpy desk clerk

ultimately - we laughed and chalked it up to the universe - and thanked our lucky stars we had only booked for one night

this property should be properly marketed and described and it would then be well-received and reviewed as there would be no surprises or unmet expectations

What can you expect for this price in the center of Avignon? You get a bed with clean sheets in an above-average sized room with space to pile your luggage. There is an elevator so you don't have to schlepp up too many stairs (there are stairs at the front door though) like you do have to do in many similarly priced hotels. If you are lucky enough to get a front-facing room you will have a nice view through trees of one of the main streets into town which can be noisy at night. You are within easy walking distance of the main train station (which is not the TGV station), the historical areas and numerous restaurants.
The staff were fine, but we didn't see much of them. We had unusually warm weather for mid-February so the heating was unnecessary. There was no sign of airconditioning so I wouldn't like to try and sleep here in a summer heatwave.
You do not get parking (the closest parking garage is next to the train station which is quite a way to drag your luggage) or much cleanliness or any luxury.
The breakfast area is dark and unwelcoming. We tried their breakfast one day; it was reasonable but nothing special. The following days we went out to nearby bakeries or restaurants and did much better for the same price.

Online pictures of this hotel indicated a renaissance-age building that had been reconditioned. Wrong. Reconditioning is underway - next door - leaving filth in front of the hotel itself. Hotel is filthy, too, with dark hallways, a teensy, worthless breakfast area, gaping tears in the curtains and a shower that was too nasty to use. Day staff is surly and non-committal. Small, almost non-functioning lift to our dirty, cold, cheerless room was a wakeup call that price isn't everything.

The only saving grace for this hotel is its location - right across from the tourist center, close to the city center/nightlife and a great seafood restaurant. It is also very close to the regional train station - not to be confused with the TGV which is a bus ride away.

Avoid this hotel!!!

I have done a lot of travelling over the last fifty years or so and do not think I am fussy. To save a few pounds I can put up with indifferent staff, scruffy decor, dirty bed covers and foul smells as found in this Hotel but I have had a better nights sleep stretched out on the floor at Heathrow airport. Maybe I was just unlucky as some people obviously like this place but they would have to pay me €49 for a single before I would stay there again. When travelling I go to bed at 22.00 and get up at 06.30 and the noise from the inside and the outside of the hotel meant no more than two or three hours sleep. For me very unusual and very dissapointing
