Excellent. Outstanding fresh food.  We had two full meals with a nice local Luberon wine for a very reasonable price of €100.

The foie gras was scrumptious. The cod, prepared in a butter sauce with vegetables, was fresh and memorable.

Ambiance is very relaxed and service outstanding.  One of our best meals in France especially considering the reasonable price.

I was taken to Avignon & Chez Brunell by a colleague, the food was absolutely fantastic, & the service very good. It was 10 of us and we all picked from the set menu. There where absolutely no complains from any one on any of the courses. It was all deliciouse. A tough crowd to please ad we are all involved with restaurants in England. The staff looked after us well and had fabulouse evening.

My friend and I were staying in a nearby hotel and decided to go for a walk to explore Avignon and find a restaurant for dinner at the same time. After studying various menus at other locations, we consulted a travel guide and Chez Brunel was on the recommended list so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We had a wonderful meal and great wines recommended by the very staff. WE definitely would go again.

This restaurant is in numerous guides and in the evenings the prices reflect this. But we went at lunchtime. It's just around the corner from the Palais des Papes and on the way to the famous Pont d'Avignon, but there weren't many tourists on a windy Saturday in March. The room divides naturally into two, with the lighter front area looking out onto the street and the darker, cosier back area with the bar. The decor is understated classy in reds, greys, whites and blacks. Lots of room between the tables.
We went for the 'formule' of 2 courses for 26 euros and had beautifully presented food, which tasted delicious. My main dish arrived decorated with peppers, although I had explained that I am allergic to them, but this was swiftly rectified. The duck was so red it was almost bleeding, but that's my fault for forgetting that top-class chefs always serve it like this. We thought the house red a bit thin but tasty. My husband loved the 'cafe gourmand', a cup of espresso served with three wee desserts. Service was efficient throughout.
