“Pleasant French Hotel”
Reviewed 16 June 2013

We stayed here with 3 friends for 7 nights. Staff and owners were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was quite French but the rooms although clean were a little small and not much storage space. The single room booked was very small but the staff were extremely helpful in changing this to a bigger room after the first night when the hotal was full. The lounge bar was very comfortable and there was an internal terrace to sit on which was very quiet even though we were in the centre of the city. Breakfast was excellent.

Room Tip: Single room probably only suitable for a short stay.

We stayed in this hotel just for two nights and they spared no effort to make us feel at home. Always with a smile and ready to assist. Location is perfect and rooms are clean and comfortable with free wi-fi.

Stayed in the Comtadin over a week end and could not recognise the hotel from some of the reviews I have seen on the site.
The receptionist was very welcoming and most helpful when we were looking for a free car park outside of the hotel, helping us finding our way around the town and to go to a wedding nearby.
The night porter/barman was most helpful when we came back late and decided to have a last drink.
The bedroom was perfectly adequate, clean and nicely decorated. I am aware of having been given an upgrade on the one we had originally booked. Nice to have a mini bar and a terasse to go to.The hotel room was incredibly quiet despite having a room at the front of the hotel and this was a nice surprise.
I can not comment on the breakfast as we elected to joins our friends in town both morning but if anything is to go with ther rest of the experience I am sure it is perfect.
On a plus note nice to be left alone in the morning by the chambermaid and despite the hotel being full we did not hear or see a soul.

We stayed here toward the end of June 2011 and found the hotel to be clean, comfortable, with a good breakfast (more than just a typical continental breakfast) costing 12 euros. The staff was very helpful with our luggage and we slept soundly- pleasantly surprised for being in the center of town and otherwise expecting typical city noises.

We had a "superior room" at a competitive rate. It was a little cramped because of the large bed, but the bathroom was spacious. It was next to the door to the first floor terrace and very peaceful. The staff were excellent and parking easy. If you like a large breakfast with a wide choice of good fare, the price of 12 euros is reasonable. There is a pleasant bar/lounge. So, what's not to like? The irritating quibbles were no white wine in the bar on Sunday evening, a faulty switch on the stairs and poor plumbing on the w.c.

We recently spent 3 nights at Le Comtadin while in the area for a wedding. The location of the hotel is very central and in walking distance of the centre of Carpentras and the weekly market. The front desk staff were great, especially Jean who was very welcoming and looked after us well in the lobby lounge while also juggling valet and front desk duties.

Our room was nothing to write home about - clean and comfortable, large bathroom, but the room itself was small and a bit uninviting for spending time in other than sleeping (but who comes to France to spend time in their hotel room?) The rooms of our fellow travelers were perhaps a bit bigger.

The hotel is older but overall adequate for the area. The tourist info centre is less than a 5 minute walk, as it the old town centre with it's narrow streets and inviting squares with plenty of cafes and resturants surrounded by the shade of the tall sycamore trees. You are also within close proximity to the numerous small towns around the area like Pernes Les Fontaines, Ile Sur La Sorque and Fontaine De Vaucluse, and to outdoor actvities in Les Dentelles de Montmirail and Mt Ventoux.

We were coming to Carpentras to experience the Friday market. The hotel staff was very helpful in pointing us to good food and interesting information on the market. When we were ready to leave, they gave us some tips on other towns in the area that we might like to visit.

The room was not all that comfortable and was very warm with no air conditioning. Otherwise, the hotel was nice and the location was excellent for market shopping.
