We stayed in the room at the top of the tower and really enjoyed the views of the vineyards. I gave it only 4 stars in that I don't know if it was worth the price and secondly, we were not interested in hanging out on the top of the tower the second day and morning due to the vineyards being sprayed (which we assumed was insecticide). However, the room was beautiful and very clean. The hotel staff was very accommodating - they let us store the multiple cases of wine we bought in the cellar and offered us multiple appetizers and desserts with our meal even though we shared a smaller meal. Pleasant experience.

Went their on a family trip last summer and was very pleased with every detail of our stay. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Setting is completely spectacular. Our little girls loved that we were staying in a real castle! Close, lovely walk into town. Great food at hotel restaurant. Rooms are simple, but large and clean. Would certainly recommend, hotel made the experience!

We originally booked into a standard double room but when we arrived we were greeted by the lovely hotel manageress who welcomed us and upgraded us up 2 levels to a suite with a beautiful four poster bed, fireplace, air conditioning and rainfall shower completely free of charge.

She told us that because it was low season all guests who arrive and if there is room for an upgrade she will provide this.

We ate dinner in the hotel the first night and what can I say... one of the BEST meals I have had in the last decade worldwide. The 3 courses were paired with excellent wines that the sommelier chose for us.

Would I recommend this place? ABSOLUTELY and on my return next year we are planning on stopping in Chateauneuf du Pape just to stay here.

To top it all of, the owners kindly called and reserved restaurants and wine tastings which made our lives much much easier.

Room Tip: If you can upgrade choose the middle to higher levels i.e not just the standard room as we were told...

This is a late 19th century imitation castle set on a hill just outside Châteauneuf du Pape. The entrance to the long tree-lined drive may be identified by the two small castellated towers. At the Château there is only room for five cars, otherwise there is a parking slightly lower down.

I had a large air-conditioned room with a comfortable bed (167 euro) plus breakfast (19 euro). I think it is a pity that the small bottle of Evian from the mini-bar was charged (3 euro) as so many hotels offer the water these days. Breakfast has a self-service varied buffet. Service from reception to other staff was smiling and helpful.

The restaurant is excellent. I chose from their Menu Gourmand (53 euro) which had a selection of three entrées, three main dishes, three desserts. I had Grosse Langoustine Rotie, followed by Râble de Lapin farcie aux herbes, an interesting selection of cheese, and did not have the dessert. Bearing in mind where I was I had a bottle of Clos des Papes (147 euro).

Worth visiting – booking advised.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in this chateau for one evening. I had read some of the past reviews and were surprised by some of the complaints. We arrived at the hotel around 2 pm and were greeted by the nicest gentleman. He didn't prefer English, but was happy to speak to my husband, who is French. We were shown our room, which was well appointed with a nice iron 4 poster bed, fireplace (not working), table with chairs and huge windows overlooking the pool and vineyards.
It was located next to the sitting room that had a fire in the fireplace. They asked us if we minded the mild smell of the fireplace and would like a different room. We opted to stay with the room as we enjoyed the smell of a nice fire. .
The bathroom was updated with a nice glassed in shower and great amenities for your use including a separate wall heater to warm the bathroom while your shower. The room has a wall heater as well the worked very well in the cold and windy weather that we encountered during our stay.

We opted for a room and dinner/breakfast package. The dinner was outstanding and the wine selection was equally great. Being American I enjoyed being a bit adventurous with my selection and had Bison and Rabbit for my starter and main entree. The cheese plate for dessert was delicious and came with 4 really great cheeses. The service was outstanding. We felt like we were the only people there, when there were 2 other couples.

We had the breakfast in the morning, which I would say is similar to a continental breakfast here in the states, but much higher quality food. The bread was fresh, the preserves were homemade, the yogurt was amazing and the selection of cheeses was equally impressive.
We really enjoyed our stay!

The owner and others were very welcoming, made reservations for us at a few of the local wineries and gave us great suggestions for our 24 hours in the region. Thank you again!
We hope to visit again soon!

Room Tip: Look on their website for better pricing for the room and dinner packages!

We had a wonderful stay here! It is very close to town, and I highly recommend eating dinner at their restaurant. It was very small, intimate and romantic. The food and wine was delicious as well!! We also loved our room, especially for the price. I felt like we got much more than what we paid for. Our room was very spacious, the bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was really nice as well. I highly recommend this hotel!!
