We bumped into this restaurant totally randomly (our holiday style...) one evening during the Easter break; we saw a couple of nice dishes of the day and entered. Had to wait a quarter of an hour, but as it was a bit late we were fine with that. Not too sure after realising they offer pizza as well (for us in Italy it is not something a good restaurant would include in the menu), but the dishes were just amazing - magret de canard (well, one of my favourites, so it was an easy win for them!), and risotto with fois-gras and mushrooms. Great white wine from Provence too, and friendly waiters.
ALready recommended to some friends who live in Nice :-)

The menu is too ambitious for this small space but we had a nice time here. For starters, we had foie gras (well prepared) and ravioli in a truffle sauce. These were tasty but a bit overcooked. The beef medallions were delicious, but I'm not sure the chunk of Camembert on top added anything--I pushed it aside. The 26 euro menu included dessert, which for me was a soft cheese with stewed fruit.

The carte runs several pages, plus specials, featuring both Italian and French classics. It was not a gourmet experience, but service was friendly, the atmosphere conducive to conversation and for anyone looking for a pleasant evening in old Antibes, well worth a visit.

If you find yourself in Antibes looking for a place to have lunch in amongst the myriad of restaurants in the 'old town' head to Le Chrono in rue James Close. I have been dining at the Chrono for the past 10 years as I used to live near Antibes.
This smallish restaurant is cozy and friendly with an owner who always welcomes us with a broad smile. The staff over the years have come and gone, but currently they greet you with a smile and are helpful in describing the 'plats du jours' for newcomers,
The standard of the food is high and has something for everyone and recently the size of portions has enlarged ! The assiette of Italian hors'doevres is excellent, but order one between 2 and is certainly is too big as a 'starter'.
The style of food is French / Italian with their pizzas the fine crispy thin crust that is preferred in these parts. 6 of us dined there recently and as usual chatted so long we were the last to leave as the restaurant closed for the evening, but never were we pushed to leave and were enticed to stay with little glasses of limoncello offered to everyone.
All restaurants have ups and downs, some waiters are friendlier than others, but the overall consistency of food and welcome in the Chrono surpasses the rest.
