“Sorry but this is very average!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2013

Went on a Monday night (13.5.13) when little else open in Biot. The other reviews put me off before but we had little choice this time. The service is very slow with a third full restaurant - two serving staff cannot cope. The ambience inside was fine and they have tables in the open in the square but too chilly for us. The food was too expensive for the quality and presentation - it is cheaper at La Pierre A Four a few hundred yards away where the service and food is on a different level. The latter has no outside space which is why this restaurant 'gets away' with it. The food was rich and creamy (risotto - main) and the Terrine starter was huge but quite fatty. The seafood soup was odd. The duck breast was good but covered in Chinese five spices. Lucy we were on holiday andnot in a rush. Won't be going back which says it all.

“Disappointing over-priced food. Poor service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2012

The best I can say is "the starters were nice". We ate in a family group of 5 and all opted for the set menu at €28. Service was generally poor, although we were early, it was an August Sunday evening, and the 2 staff clearly could not properly cope with the numbers. Main courses - steak and prawns - were both overcooked and tasteless. The steaks were very "chewy" and full of gristle. Desserts - I had a trio of creme brulee, supposedly one lemon, one orange flower and one lavender, but all tasted the same. 2 of our party had chocolate fondant which seemed to be a mass-produced supermarket one, and 2 had a crumble sadly lacking in any real fruit. Total bill at €189 included a mediocre bottle of Chablis, 2 small beers and a €6 litre of water.

“A great market place family dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 August 2012

We were warmly welcomed (3 adults and 6 kids) by the family owners of this delightful restaurant located in the relaxed square of Biot, despite coming straight from the near-by Aquasplash/Marineland. We all enjoyed great service and an excellent meal - to the extent that we booked and returned a couple of days later. This time, slightly better dressed!

“Extremely slow service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 August 2012

This restaurant is located in the main square of Biot. There are many outside tables which are serviced by two members of staff and the main restaurant is about 50 metres away down the road. What happens when they get busy is that these two people cannot manage the outside effectively. They really try and spend the entire time running up and down, but it does not help. 15 minutes after seating we received the menu. Another 20 minutes until the order is taken and another 30 until the food arrives. When it does arrive the food is pleasant, but it is really just a tourist trap and in no way deserves the glowing reviews to found here. We left after several hours having paid a lot of money and we were not impressed enough by the mediocre food to forgive the poor service.
