“Girls holiday!”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

Went for a long weekend with 8 friends to visit our friend who lives over there. She recommended it to us, as she sends all her family, etc there when they are visiting. The pool is small but just what you need. It was perfectly sized for 5 of us, the others were on another floor. We had to clean the apartment before we left or you can pay 85 euros,, roughly. The man receptionist wasn't too friendly on check in but once you are in the apartment then you barely see them. It was great for a base and 2 minutes from our friends flat. I would go back though next year with my family to visit our friend and am seriously thinking about it. But in all honesty, can't fault the place. Just make sure you do your itinery as soon as you get in so you don't get charged as they did take my friends credit card as insurance. The walls were a bit dirty and the loo could have done with a bit of bleach down it, so it was probably cleaner on exit!! But as I said, I'd go back!

the appartments are perfect as a base to visit the Core d'Azur. Most of them have a free parking space in the subterrain but be sure you do not have a big car because the spaces are rather small.
The appartment is equiped with all necessary things, there are baking shops on walking distance and also a small supermarket.
As previously stated they want a rather large deposit for cleaning and.or breaking stuff.
Internet is for the french only because you have to regiter using an existing cell number

Room Tip: the left side of the building does not have sun on the terasses in the afternoon and evening

We had worst experience in this hotel appartment.Bedroom was so small that it was hard to open and close the door and go in and out, door was hitting the bed,so small it was. They charge 50 euro for final cleaning and block 300 euro from which they take another 200 euro for final cleaning so prepare yourself for 250 euro to pay for cleaning or endure humiliation of sweeping the floors in front of receptionist when you are leaving as it happened to another customer who didnt want to pay extra charge for cleaning.Another thing, there is no internet connection only in the lobby, kitchen is equipped poorly,we had to bring our own pans, bath towels are at extra charge for some 75 euro, which is obnoctious prize as one towel cost maximum 10 euro. The way from parking to rooms is obstacled with many useless doors,it looks like runway for a mice and it is difficult to go with many luggages.Receptionist is arrogant but the worst is they dont provide any service and charge 250 euro for final cleaning. What they think they are hotel Hermitage in Monaco?Even they dont charge for cleaning. We would not advice noone to take this hotel if he is up to higher living standards, this hotel is TERRIBLE!

Room Tip: Terrible hotel

Although the property was immaculate and clean, and the reception staff were lovely, it didn't meet expectations.

It was incredibly basic and absolutely nothing was standard (not even a toilet roll in sight), such as inclusion of a cot or a high chair, this cost an additional 18 euros a week each, not to mention the fact that you have to pay for your linen and towels! So once you have got over the shock that everything cost extra, and get to your "2 room" apartment, which was not a 2 room apartment but a 1 room and sofa bed, to realise that your TV has no cable and no channels in any other language but French, one would consider that in today's modern world you would at least have wi-fi....no chance! To access wi-fi, one needs to make their way to reception and access an incredibly slow wi-fi connection from there... (It took me just over an hour to download a movie!)

My husband and I slept on the sofa bed, and quite frankly sleeping on two concrete slabs may have been more comfortable, so very pleased to be home today!

To add insult to injury, on one of our days holiday when the family wanted to use the swimming pool facilities only to find half the hotel's residents waiting for access, being told that someone was soon to open the pool, this never happened...no apology, no updates, and no representation from the hotel. (reception was closed for the day as well)

Last but not least, don't forget to save a day's holiday to clean the apartment, otherwise this will cost you another 45 euros, which is a fairly large cost when you have forked out so much for the pleasure of staying here.

Calculating the total cost to stay at this hotel, and taking into account all of the additional costs they surprise you with on arrival, and the limited facilities or the lack thereof (cable tv, wi-fi, limited pool access), I would recommend anyone considering this hotel to add at least another £150-£200 cost to your stay before comparing the cost to a hotel that would call these expectations as standard.

Top Tip:
For those who travel with infants, be aware that restuarants do not keep high chairs, so make sure you take a travel high chair everywhere with you.

Room Tip: If you are a family of 4 ask for a 3 bedroom apartment, this is actually a 2 bedroom with a sitting...

My wife and I stayed for two weeks in a two bedroomed apartment and took advantage of a significant discount. The entire complex is spotlessly clean and the reception staff were really pleasant and very helpful. We have stayed in other Coralia residences so we were aware that you have to supply your own essentials such as toilet rolls. The balcony was very spacious with a terrific view of the medieval village, Haut de Cagnes, and the snow capped mountains beyond. We got the evening sun and we were able to take preperandials and dinner on the balcony.
Other reviewers asserted that it is too far to the promenade; it is 1.4 kilometres and takes 20 minutes at a leisurely pace. We thorougly enjoyed our stay at Le Crystal and would not hesitate to repeat our visit.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view of Haut de Cagnes benefit from the evening sun.

My husband and I stayed here for 11 days in the spring of 2012. We found it to be incredibly convenient for visiting the region -- Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Monaco, hilltop villages, museums, etc. Most destinations were only a 1 Euro bus ride away. And the bus stop was 2 blocks from the residence. Don't want to take the bus? The apartment comes with a private parking spot.

The apartment is located in Cagnes sur Mer, only 1.4 K from the sea. Cagnes sur Mer is a charming village with a beautiful sea front, a medieval hilltop village and the Renoir museum. But don't stay here if you are looking for nightclubs; it is a rather quiet village.

This is an apartment residence, not a hotel. During our stay, the front desk was closed between 1 pm and 3 pm (and on Sundays), although I imagine the hours change when the tourist season is in full swing. Its incredibly clean and well-run. Perfect for the longer stays. We took the studio and brought our own sheets and towels rather than pay the extra fee for theirs. The apartment is equipped with all the conveniences - dishes, pots/pans, cutting board, nice terrace, clothes drying lines, mops, brooms, TV, in the room and washer/dryer on the ground floor. There is a cleaning fee at the end of your stay (for the studio it was 40 Euros), but you can elect to do the cleaning yourself.

Lastly, if you are arriving from the Nice airport, you can take the 500 bus from the airport to Cagnes sur Mer for 1 Euro. Pay the driver directly when you board the bus - no need to purchase a ticket in advance. This bus pulls into the airport (terminal 1 only) and has a proper luggage compartment. Get off the bus in Cagnes sur Mer at the stop called "Square Bourdet" and walk 2 blocks to Residence Le Crystal.

We stayed as a couple in one of the one bed apartments in le crystal.

We arrived at a time when the staff were on duty but beware as they aren't there all day. You have to purchase your sheets and towels for the week at check in, which is annoying but not too costly. They were perfectly fresh and clean however.

We were provided with an underground parking space within the complex, which was great as we used the car daily- it was a lifesaver as location of these apartments is terrible. Firstly Cagnes sur mer as a town itself is OK but there are definitely prettier towns with better restaurants and views elsewhere along the riviera. Secondly, the apartments themselves are NOT within walking distance of the beach and restaurants along the promenade, meaning a drive each night for dinner. The apartments are in downtown cagnes, which had several small local shops and a bakery but nowhere you would fancy eating in within walking distance. The apartment itself didn't feel nice enough or big enough for us to cook in any evening and the view from the balcony was hardly breathtaking (another apartment block) so it defeated the purpose of being on a self catering holiday.

The apartment was clean on arrival but there is no option of a mid week clean as commonly found with other apartments. We paid for the clean at the end of our week rather than opting to do it ourselves. Didn't seem like a fun end to our holiday to do a big clean and seemed worth the 40 euros especially as you'd have had to buy the cleaning products anyway.

The bed was two single beds pushed together and the bedding was single bedding- hardly romantic- also the beds slipped apart every night to leave a big void for you to fall down!

The wireless Internet in the communal areas rarely if ever worked so don't bank on it. And no English tv channels on the tv in the apartment.

The pool varied from being very busy to very quiet, and couldn't see a pattern with times of this so just your luck. But always got a sunbed but don't forget your own beach towel.

We had a lovely holiday in the Cote d'Azur, and geographically, Cagnes is good for touring east or west along the coast. The riviera is a beautiful place and you'll have a fantastic holiday but just choose your base wisely, unlike us as unfortunately our accommodation was the only thing we would change if we could do it all again.
