“Nice apartment in a very good location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 August 2013

This aparthotel gave overall good value for money. The apartment was very spacious and rooms were a nice size. Bathroom was very modern and towels were provided. The kitchen utensils were a bit grubby so might be best to bring your own.

Great location close to the marina and there was a lovely cafe called the Melting Pot which provided tasty treats at good prices.

Reception staff were generally quite helpful. Would recommend that guests weren't asked to remove rubbish at the end of their stay!

Nice residence overall.

We have just arrived back from 2 weeks at the Suite Affaire in Cannes. Here is my honest review about the hotel.

The location is very good, just by the marina in Cannes. Can be a little tricky to find the hotel, its right next to Le Melting Pot cafe.

The service was quite bad. They usually didn't bother to say hi when you walked in our out of the reception. And if you asked for extra towels you could hear a *sight* and a reply "Do you really need to shower today “Can it wait until tomorrow?”

The apartments have a nice size (at least the family suites). But they were very dirty! The floor had not been cleaned, the table had stains, the shower / bathtub still had the previous guest's hair in them etc..

The first thing we did was to clean the apartment at arrival. But the biggest problem for us was the noise. People was partying in the hall & balcony all night. The rooms do not have any noise insulation so you basically get all the noise from everybody in the room. Whats the point of sitting on a balcony when young swedes all around you have a full party all day and night with loud music and screaming.
I talked to the reception about it and they said: “It’s summer, what did you expect?”

Will we be back here? Not a chance! We last year spent 2 weeks at ExcelSuites. That was a much more pleasant experience. Even though the location can’t be compared to Suite Affaire.

While looking for lodging in France recently, I found that “aparthotels” were becoming more prevalent. If a traveler is staying in an area for quite a few days, I would argue that it is a good option to consider. The flat we “rented” for three days met our needs perfectly, allowing us to cook meals when desired, and offering two bedrooms and one bath, all for the same price as a hotel room. But what you see when you arrive is what you get for the stay; you don’t get a change of towels or a freshly made bed unless you have been there at least 7 days. You have to clean up after yourselves and take out your own trash. But this flat couldn’t be located in a better area of Cannes. It is literally 100 yards from the beach, from the marina, and from one of the most bustling streets in the city. We could easily walk anywhere in the downtown area within minutes, including the morning market, the shopping district, multitudes of restaurants, as well as the Palais des Festivals that hosts the Cannes Film Festival. The flat is very nicely designed, although it was not as clean as most places we stayed in France. There is no view, but it quiet inside as long as the windows are closed. The air conditioning works well and the kitchen has enough plates, utensils, etc, to serve about one meal. But, the dishwasher works great and makes short work of cleanup. The front desk to the complex is staffed 24-hours a day and if the doors are locked, the room key can be used on an outside door. Parking can be a bugger, especially in the evenings and nights when the nearby restaurants are in full swing. There is parking on the street adjacent to the hotel, and as a backup, there is a 24-hour lot directly across from the Radisson Blu Hotel close by. The only drawback to this flat is that it can be difficult to find. Google Maps shows Rue de la Rampe as a street, but in reality it is a cul-de-sac. And, Rue du Port, which is the only street that leads up to Rue de la Rampe, is a one-way. So the only way to access the building is to turn up an unmarked street (that looks like a service road for the hotel) immediately to the east of the Radisson Blu Hotel (which is Rue du Port) which leads to Rue de la Rampe only a few yards away. The apartment services would do well to send their tenants a mini-map and listing of area services prior to arrival.

I stayed at The Ruc Hotel for two nights and the third here. This place was half the price and twice as clean nice and perfectly located. It is so nice I was sorry I couldn't stay more time. The rooms have a kitchen with everything. There was soap (wich I took cause I´d read there wasn´t going to be any) . Even soap for the dishwasher!!!

I took my son and they made a bed for him in the livingroom for the same price.

I had an excellent balocony with table chairs and everything necessary.

Good bed, but not very large.... although it was comfortable.

Room Tip: I got the first floor and noticed that my balcony was three times as large as the rest of them. No n...

We had read mixed reviews. we found it to be really good value for money and were impressed by how spacious and modern the apartment was. Could not really complain about the cleanliness as all appeared clean. Bedding was clean (no holes). Only thing to note is there was only 1x cereal sized spoon but sure we could have got more if asked. We did not have a kettle and only 1 mug. When asked reception, we were sent a brand new kettle (which had already been ord'd) and more mugs. We were also given another seat and beanbag so we could all be seated. Staff was helpful and friendly enough. I think we will be going again!

Stayed for 3 nights - a little hard to find as they had closed the road outside the main entrance for resurfacing! However once there check-in was easy, apartment was of a good size and brand new. The location is outstanding, next to the old port and within 5 min walk of restaurants and bars. Bedroom was an ok size but a good size lounge/dining area and a kitchenette. Everything worked and there was an excellent shower but take your own soap!! Towels are there but nothing to dry dishes with!! Parking is not ideal as you can park on the streets free from 7.00-7.00 but you have to use the car park (about 200m away) for anything outside these hours as they are hot with tickets! Overall a good experience and I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Try and get a room at the front of the building as road a little noisy at the rear from 6.00am

Stayed for 4 nights and although the rooms are a nice size, there are no extras. For example, no soap in the bathrooms, no tea towels to dry your utensils, no bin liners for the bins they ask you to empty before you leave etc.

Our stay was ok but I would say this is not really a hotel and is more like student resident blocks.

The rooms and space are ok but not terribly clean and don't expect your beds to be made or bathroom to be cleaned by the hotel magic fairies during your stay- these are apartments and not hotel rooms in that respect.

Nothing wrong with that if that's what you want but for the price we paid, we probably would have been better hiring an independent apartment as there are no additional services here.

Location is very good and central for the old part of town but personally I wouldn't stay here again.
