“Nice hotel, average location”
Reviewed 12 August 2011

Pros: The WiFi is very good and with no limitations; there are 2 supermarkets very close to the hotel, which was important for us as we didn't take the breakfast; the beach is not very far away; the shopping street is 2 minutes walk from the hotel; the staff was friendly and everybody spoke very good English

Cons: It is quite far from the busy and lively port area and from the train station as in Cannes taxis are very rare and expensive.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the interior garden are better (the alternative beeing a highway view)

Although adjacent to a raised roadway, we had a room overlooking it and did not experience any undue noise at night. In fact, the area around the hotel is very peaceful in the evening with several good cafes close by. It is also a short walk to the Rue d'Antibes, the main shopping street, with all its designer labels, and only a couple of minutes further on to the Croisette. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room we had was perfectly adequate for a 3-star rating, with a nice clean bathroom. Breakfast is on the top floor with a small balcony overlooking the town, and offers a typical continental-style meal. There is a courtyard at the rear of the property with tables and chairs and a small bar, and is a pleasant place to sit in the evening before going out. Our only concern was the tiny antiquated lift which meant on most occasions it was necessary to use the stairs. This would not have been a problem except that the lights on the stairs and in the corridors turned off after a few minutes if no-one walked past and it was often impossible to make them come on again, despite pressing the wall switches. The result was that you often had to grope your way down the internal staircase in pitch darkness - surely not what the hotel intended! Although I spoke to Reception twice about the problem, it was the same all the time we were there. Overall, though, a nice hotel and one we would go back to again, especially as Cannes itself is great.

External appearances can sometimes be deceiving, with this hotel it's true!
once your through the door it all changes, very polite, helpful and friendly staff, basic but very clean room, where everything works perfectly, shower-TV-very comfy bed etc. Breakfast on the top floor was very nice, with a terrace so you can eat outside if desired.
All in all this is a hotel i can definately recommend!!!!

The hotel is a little dated and perhaps screams the 1980s, however, it is central - just a 5-10min stroll to the beach and the nearby restaurants. We were on the side which was away from the flyover, but the hotel is next to a main road and I guess that rooms there will be pretty noisy!

On the plus side, the rooms are clean and the bathrooms big, although the shower is not all that great. The decor is pretty standard and dated, but they have a balcony (perhaps the views aren't all that great though!)

The hotel lift is a scream. You can fit about 2 people in when breathing normally - the moment you have 3, it's like a game of sardines!

The price is fine and for a short weekend break in Cannes where you're going to be burning a hole in your purse anyway (goodness knows what on, but it flows like water!) it's clean, central and adequate. Make no mistakes, there is nothing about being in the lap of luxury here - so I don't recommend it for a romantic getaway or anything like that - but it's fine for a weekend with friends.

We stayed here in April 2008. The hotel was perfectly adequate - a decent 2 star hotel.

The room itself was very nice - good size with television, kettle, small balcony, large wardrobe and nice bathroom (although separate a toilet!)

The hotel staff were great - really friendly and helpful. They gave us a free map and were able to direct us (in English) to the free beaches, good cheap local restaurants, etc.

Hotel itself was not amazing though. The lift was ancient and ridiculously small and the corridors were not lit (could not find a light switch for love nor money) so spent quite a lot of time stumbling around in the darkness trying to locate our room.

Hotel is in a decent location, not very easy to find (pick up a hotel flyer from the tourist office as this has a map on it) but near the shops and some cheap places to eat.

Overall, hotel was fine, not amazing but good for the price and we had no problems when we were staying there.

We found a great deal on the internet for this hotel.

The room was spacious and clean. Our family of 2 adults and 2 infants stayed for 2 nights and the staff at reception made us feel totally at home. They helped us organise our tour of cannes by locating on a map where the main attractions are. They spoke english for my convenience as my french was very poor and were always very nice. They have an underground off street private carpark at your disposal for 14 euros a night,.

This hotel provided us with exceptional facilites for the price that we paid.

The room was spacious modern and clean with a colour screen tv and tea making facilities as well as a private safe box . The bathroom was fitted with a hairdryer and was well supplied with shampoo, soaps, showercaps, shoe shining stripsand towels.

  • Liked — the staff at recpetion, felt like we had just come home
  • Disliked — nothing
