“Friendly professional athmoshere”
Reviewed 2 August 2012

We stayed as a couple for one night at Hotel Spa Beau Séjour in Cannes summer 2012.

This year it was even better than last year. Our family, 2 adults and two teenagers, spent 12 nights the at the hotel summer of 2011. The same owners, the same staffing and they are very friendly, helping, positive, serviceminded and professional. The owners and the staff are doing continuous improvements with the hotel and the service.

The athmosphere is very friendly and there people living at the hotel are relaxed and friendly. We have met a lot of nice people at this hotel while eating breakfast and staying by the pool.

The hotel is situated ca 300 m from the beach of Cannes, where you can play volleyball, swim, take a walk or meet a lot of friendly people from France, Italy, Nordic Countries, Spain, US ...

There are a lot of restaurants by the seaside and at the Old Town, which is situated just 300-500 m from the hotel. We recommend:
- the Fregatt by the seaside (new serviceminded owner this year),
- Le Domino (new owners this year, we miss the show of Frank) the 3 plate menu was very good,
- Pizza Creole, close to the Central Bus Station - best Pizzas (there is always a queue/line to this Pizza restaurant and we recommend the pizzas.
- the small Sushi bar in the middle of the shopping streets, is good
- the Irish Pub in the Old harbour has friendly owner and staff, always a lot of people from all over the world.

I am just back from a great stay here when I visited Cannes. I agree completely with all that Stratton W had to say earlier.

I was in a very spacious room 314, on my own. For a couple, this would also make for a great room also. Balcony faced onto the street, and apartments across the road (didn't bother me). The sun shone on the balcony and it was very warm ;-) The other side would look onto the hotel pool and gardens. If you want a sea view, spend a few hundred more and look at the beach front hotels.
Air conditioning was excellent, free electronic safe available. Free Wi-fi with good connection. Cracking bed (2 singles pushed together), clean linen daily, as was towels etc. Hot water was no issue. Friendly staff, always happy to help when I asked for it, otherwise, kept themselves to themselves. The bar is nice, the garden & pool is just spot on for slipping in and out of throughout the day or evening when you return from a days strolling the town or lounging on the beach.
Breakfast was ample, honestly. Cereal, breads, ham, cheese, yogurts, fruit, tea, coffee, juices, eggs etc.
Never used the gym or spa.
Location-wise, I was delighted. Just away from the hustle and bustle, and not far enough to get fed up of the stroll to the beach (6 mins max) or town (10mins max). Easily walkable from the Nice Airport Express bus stop.

If I was forced to offer a negative in amongst nothing but praise for this hotel, it would be that because a busy-ish road intersection is quite close, you hear the emergency servcies sirens for a length of time until they battle through the junction. Some days were "busier" than others, but jeeeeeez, what can you do?! It's emergency services after all, so c'mon, it aint all that bad. Just to clarify, the general road noise cannot be heard.

Top marks for this hotel, I look forward to going back sometime!

My girlfriend and I stayed in Cannes in summer 2010 and decided to return in order to stay in a hotel a bit closer to the beach. Having booked the hotel on-line we were surprised (perhaps naively) to discover that the photos were very different from the reality! If you are after a hotel which is easy on the eye then this would not be the first choice, however, as a budget alternative to the beach front hotels then this would be a good choice. The hotel staff were very pleasant indeed (especially the night staff) and the breakfast service was very good (although they do have a cat which is allowed to roam about). We stayed in a room on the ground floor which was very basic (no safe or fridge and the clean bed sheets were sometimes stained) but it did the job. The 'gym' is no more than a box room, but it was better than nothing. We didn't use the spa facilities due to time constraints. If you are looking for a cheap and basic hotel walking distance the beach, this would be a good choice.

Have seen some iffy reviews of this hotel in the past. Forget them. This is a clean, well-run, quiet hotel in one of the best locations in Cannes. It is 100 yards from a selection of beaches, both private and public, 400 yards from the old marina and Suquet district and only ten minutes walk from Rue D'Antibes the town's exclusive shopping street. The Croisette, the main promenade is also only a 15-minute walk away.
The staff in the hotel couldn't be more helpful, Alain, Delila, Daniel and Christine on the front desk are only too happy to sort out any problems that may arise and also provide useful information about the district and travelling around.
The breakfast is very simple but absolutely adequate and only people who need a 'full English' are going to be disappointed.
The rooms are not particularly big - but that's a French thing - and they're pretty basic. They are, however, kept spotlessly clean with fresh towels provided every day which is not something that every 3 star hotel will provide.
This hotel also has a fantastic garden to sunbathe in, again this is a bit of a luxury in the South of France, and has a small but adequate swimming pool.
The owner doesn't stand any nonsense, but that can be a good thing.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool and gardens are best

This hotel has got professional staff who are very friendly and helpful.

We stayed 12 nights at the hotel in june and july 2011 with our 19 an 16 year old boys. Our sons had a room of their own next to our's.

The hotel is situated close to the beach, nice restaurant roads, supermarket, bus stations, the city of Cannes.

The beach close to the hotel is perfect for a family with teens, volleyball is played on the beach and the people coming each day to the beach are very friendly. There are both young and elderly people playing volleyball, swimming and sunbathing at the beach close to the hotel, the atmosphere is wonderful. Along the beach, there are possibilities to walk or run along the Riviera at both directions. The water is nice and it's lovely to swim.

Each evening we went to the city to have dinner at different restaurants.

The hotel has got a gym and we used it for training.

Our teens eat a lot as they are training a lot. They mostly ate yougurts, ham, eggs - and you could eat as much as you wanted. There were a lot of bread, cakes, cereals, pine apple, orange fruits...some days also pan cakes. The breakfast is french - not american - no bacon. Of course coffee, tea and orange juice. The eggs could be better - they should not be boiled as long as they are... we have recommended shorter boiling time. ; )

The hotel is staffed during the night, and we could stay out as long as we wanted.

You can easily travel by train or bus. There is a busstation close to the hotel and it's not far to walk - just few km - to the central station of Cannes.

We were satisfied with our rooms. Clean and they looked as the pictures in the presentation of the hotel. The pool was also as in the presentation, small but OK and clean. We got a refrigerator to our room. It was the hotel manager that asked if we would like to have one.

We had a lovely time and would like to be able to return soon!

This hotel is only a walking distance far from Cannes center and from the main attractions and restaurants.
It was quite cheap, they had a parking (indoor) and a basic breakfast.
The rooms were very big and clean and the receptionist very friendly

This hotel lacks any sense of fun or pleasure. The rooms aren't like the photographs and are very dated and tired. There is a bar, but it doesn't have any wine! The staff are very unhappy and consequently there is an air of tension at all times. There isn't a chef to provide evening meals so it feels much more like a B+B than a hotel. We put the "do not disturb" sign on our door and room service just knocked and woke us up so they could "clean" the room. The towels were changed every day but the same sheets were on our bed for days (we know because they were marked) and the bathroom and toilet weren't cleaned. The spa is expensive at 20 euros to use any of the facilities (sauna, steam room and hot tub) and one staff member in the spa were very rude and aggressive.
Wish I had stayed at home!
