“Nice to have an American Hotel in Europe”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

Great Marriott property with a wonderful view of the beach. We were lucky enought to arrive on night 3 of Festival d'Art Pyrotechnique. There was a mix up on our room and the manager made up for it by giving us an ocean front room ~ perfect for the Fireworks display. Breakfast in the grill was good, room service was great and the roof top pool was nice and peaceful.

Excellent location on the Croisettes Boulevard, it is in the middle therefore lively but not too noisy as downtown Cannes that is 1-2 km away. It is 2 blocks away from Carlton (Intercontinental) that is also quite fancy and known place.

I stayed 5ights at 501 that is garden view but also had partial sea view and bigger than other deluxe rooms. Rooms are tastefully decorated. All pieces around rooms are comparable with JW standards 5 or 5+ star. No negative points at all. By the way, no welcome chocolate or fruit basket even for marriott platinum member.

Hotel has no beach that is offered by other hotels with additional fee at Coisettes. It has a small pool at top level that is usually not so crowded. For beach entrance hotel has a deal with longbeach that costs 51€ for 2 people/day. Other beaches are asking normally also around 46 to 100€ for 2. Carton hotel beach does not accept non-hotel guest during high season(July-August). To sum it up, beach entrance a bit pain and costly.

Hotel also does not have executive lounge therefore offer free breakfast to elite Marriott members. Concierge is not that helpful in general e.g. beaches, parking places, to do around Cannes etc.not even close to my previous experiences at Marriott hotels.

Breakfast is at entrance level open air nice view to the sea. In general good offering and ambience. Parking is either at hotel vale that is 40€ or you park at the building yourself that is 35€/day or on the street if you find a place 3€/hour (from 8-12 and 14-18, other hours are for free and you have to change the ticket in every 2 hours)

Hotel is one of the few 5 star hotels in Cannes and you fell it with the guests. However, we meet quite nice people not arrogant rich stereotypes and enjoyed much. There are a lot offer for lunch and dinner within few minutes’ walk.

Despite we do not had any bad experience, I have not observed any extra mile for a 1000+USD/night 5+ star property, however it is Cannes high season and should be normal.

Room Tip: Gardenview with higher floor.

Very extremely bad service ! Worst experience in hospitality ! Got a room with dirty towels ! Plus order 3 bottle of water and waited for 1 hours to get them (with 3 reminding phone calls) simply you expect much more for the money you r paying!!!

I stayed at this hotel last year in August. After getting off the 5 + hour high speed train from France, I was delighted to find the hotel was only a five minute walk from the Cannes station. This was awesome because I was able to travel to Nice, Saint Tropez and Monte Carlo with ease from the hotel. The hotel is located on the strip where there is plenty of high end shopping. I stayed in a standard room with a nice view. It was spotless, the beds were comfy and it was roomy enough for two adults to maneuver comfortably. The hotel lobby was beautiful, the rooftop pool was nice, there were chairs for tanning and the view up there was fabulous. Check-in and out was speedy and smooth. Finally, I was able to board an inexpensive airport bus that was a five minute walk from the hotel (close to the Cannes station). I highly recommend this hotel.

Cannes was one of the stops of our 14 day european road trip. This place is amazing. Great location, excellent service, good breakfast, and comfortable rooms. Our room had welcome macarons. Yummy! The lobby is gorgeous. I highly recommend the JW, just avoid staying here during the Cannes Film Festival since room prices go way way up!

Room Tip: High floors to get good views

Excellent location on the Croisettes Boulevard and kind staff very helpful. The Prestige suite was perfect. The breakfast was good but it could be a lot better. The JW Grill restaurant was very good. I would highly recommend this hotel

I was there in March, for Business. They welcomed me saying that they had a parking, but this was more expensive than the public one! The room was fantastic, top quality with balcony in front of the sea. This hotel is a Marriott, but it has a unique atmosphere and artists pictures everywhere. The staff is motivated and well, well, trained to deal with whatever request.
The quality of the food is high. You cross the road and enjoy the beach, or a beautiful running on the beach sidewalk. When booking, ask for their best price: if the hotel is not fully booked you might be positively surprised!

Room Tip: Negotiate your rate!
