Located in an area that most tourists staying in Cannes would never find but well worth the effort to find it.! It is situated on a quiet road with no other businesses around and the outside is rather deceiving as it looks like any other small bar/restaurant - and you would be forgiven for thinking that there nobody was inside....as the main section of the restaurant is located in the garden and terraces out at the back and cannot be seen from the entrance.
Iron garden chairs, ceramic tables, mature tall trees, some nice lighting all add to the relaxed atmosphere. Staff are very courteous and smiles are plentiful. There appeared to be more French diners than other nationalities...which is usually a good sign.
The menu is varied and would offer something for all tastes.
We had had a late lunch and decided to skip starters and just order one Antipasti for a taster...just as well we did as the portion size was sufficient for all 3 of us to share. Served on a large rectangle plate everything tasted really fresh - corgettes, spring onions, red peppers, aubergines, baby tomatoes, artichokes and mushrooms - approx. 4 pieces of each ...and was cooked to perfection...served with a light vinegrette and crusty bread...delicious..
Two of us opted for the chicken skewers with a lemon sauce - and to be honest, we could have shared one between us as there were approx. 10 good size pieces of chicken on the skewer...and it was accompanied by a jacket potato, mushrooms, ratatouille and baked tomato!
The other dish was a Pasta Carbonara...again it was a huge portion size, perfectly cooked and presented with plenty of bacon and parmesan cheese.
We were all so full that we couldn't even think of ordering a dessert.
This is a restaurant I would certainly return to...if it doesn't become so popular that you can't get a table !
