We stay at hotel Martinez every single year. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I would recommend trying to get a room facing the sea. It's definitely worth the money. Just a minutes walk to the beautiful beach. Try getting a beach lounger on the smaller beach as is more private. Breakfast is brilliant as there is lots of choice for everyone as well

We spent a week at the hotel and were suprised at the pettiness when it came to the hotel's policy towards its guests with charges.
On one afternoon we ordered a glass of wine and as always at that hotel they bring you immediately a room charge docket to sign. My husband signed for his glass of wine 12 euro. About 10 minutes later the waiter came over to request him to sign another docket for 16 euro as he said they had charged for the wrong wine. As he had ordered over the week many different drinks it seemed very petty for the hotel to be chasing 4 euro when we know that Hyatt members get free drinks at happy hour for example and how much we were spending at the bar etc every day.
We sent a 1page fax to Paris and the hotel charged 9 euro for it. When we checked out a large bill for lunch was on our account.
It was not our room number or signature and moreover we did not have that lunch at the hotel.nothing to do with us!
What a fuss to have it removed from our bill. We had sorted it out in the morning and had a new bill printed out with the wrong charge removed. An hour later we came back to pay the bill and the wrong charge was back on. When we pointed this out, a manager had to be called and a huge fuss to have the item removed again. We have travelled to every part of the world and have stayed at many chain and other style of hotels but this was our first experience like this
Unfortunately, there were many other examples like the above during our stay including charging guests to have a bed around the hotel's pool. Never seen this before! The beach yes but not the pool
The staff are attentive and polite, the position perfect. The rooms need to be seriously updated but we believe that some rooms have already been renovated. The gym and pool area are good. Breakfast was not included and was expensive every day for what we had. We were told at check in that there was no ala carte option - buffet only and if we wanted ala carte to have it in our room. Not sure if this is correct but what the young lady at reception insisted was the situation. We thought this an odd situation.
All up a pleasant stay, in spite of some of the lack of feeling of hospitality and generosity.

Dear guests,

We would like to thank you for taking the time to share your impressions following your stay with us.

We acknowledged your comments and shared it with our departments. We would like to apologize for the inconvenience regarding your billings. Our Managers received new instructions to enhance their capacity to operate the billings with their teams.

Access to the swimming pool is free of charge, for all our hotel guests, but the sun loungers at the swimming pool are indeed, during High Season, paying. The reason is simply "arithmetic” as we have approximately 50 sun loungers at the swimming pool and during July & August, always more than 400 guests in the Hotel. The charge for the sun loungers has been decided just to have a smooth regulation of the requests.

Please rest assured that the comfort and the satisfaction of our guests are our first preoccupation. We thank you for your understanding and for helping us to improve the quality of our service.

We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again at the Hotel Martinez.

Best regards.

The hotel faces the beach and is in a nice location overall. The service was excellent. Restaurant prices were very high, as was the chair rental for the Hyatt beach ($100 for the day for the four of us).

I stayed at the Martínez on a business trip. The Hotel has a perfect location, has a good buffet, has a good beach and pretty decent service BUT, needs mainteanence badly. Its a bit old, rooms are quite small and in room amenities are so so. The TV set, closets, and showers are not top notch. And you are paying top dollars to stay there. I dont know how are the rates in the carlton or the majestic. I would ask there.

Dear guest,

We would like to thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We took notes from your comments and shared it with our team.

As you know, Hyatt is managing the Hotel since last year and a refurbishment program is ongoing. The biggest part of the work will start this winter and will last three years in order to renew the rooms and facilities of the hotel.

Please rest assured that the comfort and the satisfaction of our guests are our first preoccupation. We thank you for your understanding and for helping us to improve the quality of our service.

We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again at the Hotel Martinez.

Very disappointed in what is considered one of the "Grande Dames" of the French Riveria. We stayed here many years ago prior to Hyatt ownership and the rooms were exceptional - now not so. Room had dirty carpet & faded upholstery, and molded chipped paint areas behind the curtains. Not what you would expect from a Grand Hyatt property. Public areas were nice.

We spent last weekend at the Hotel Martinez in Cannes. It appears that my husband booked a “Beach Package” via British Airways, which meant that we got all sorts of upgrades. A wonderful Buffet breakfast was included in the rate and so was free access to Z.Plage, which is the hotel’s private beach club on La Croisette.
Check in was excellent, our room was not ready on arrival but they went out of their way to give us a room to change into our beach clothes. Staff were very polite and efficient throughout our stay. We expected a Deluxe Mountain view room but we actually had a recently refurbished side sea view room. The room was very clean, spacious, well-furnished, lovely bathroom, separate toilet (I would have preferred though to also have a wash basin in the toilet).
We really liked the bar and restaurant at Z.Plage, not cheap, but you don’t expect cheap at La Croisette. We had lunch there twice and even watched World Cup football one evening listening to live Brazilian music and sampling delicious Brazilian tapas.
Wonderful weekend.
