The view is stunning if you get the right rooms.

This hotel is the place to stay in Cannes, simply the best.

Also the lunch at the beach is the best in town, just i no brainer choice.

Room Tip: get a room on the front with a full view, it is worth every penny extra

I stayed hear for a week in August last summer I loved it. I stayed with my wife and younger children in the Roman Polanski suite. It was amazing two huge televsisions, views of the fireworks, and balconies over the ocean. It was one of the nicest suites i have been in. The breakfast was great and had anything you can think of, including crepes piled high.

We spent 5 nights there. Upon arrival, we were assigned a room on the 6th floor. We are non-smokers and ignored the floor was a smoker's floor. The room was terrible: dirty and stained carpet, an unbearable stench in everything: pillows, mattress, and worst of all we had bed bugs! We were moved to a 5th floor superior room, which was cleaner but also had bed bugs and a bathtub drain which didn't close (I had to keep the water running to take a bath).
Tne terrace café is very nice, but open to everybody and his dog after breakfast. As a hotel guest you can consider yourself lucky to win a fight for a table in the evening. That's totally unacceptable; the hotel should at least reserve a couple of rows for guests, because it's the only nice place in the hotel and why otherwise pay 800€ per day for a smelly, worn room??
Upon checkout, as a goodwill gesture we were credited with about 800€, but that doesn't change our mind that this place is overpriced, overrated and in a bad need of a major overhaul.

We thought we would spoil ourselves and stay on the Croisette in Cannes so we booked the Carlton hotel. We found the room to be very small, old style and in need of certain upgrading. The position of the hotel was great as you were just across the road from the beach front but it is a hotel that only caters for the very rich. You pay for everything, ie Internet in your room ( free in the lobby), beach chairs and towels etc. The hotel doesn't even have its own swimming pool. We couldn't even have a coffee in the lobby before 10am as breakfast was still being served. We wouldn't stay there again.

Its of course a very nice hotel in an excellent location, but my room had an awful view and was tiny and old so... For that price?? No, thanks. Cannes has excellent other options, more charming. And you still can go have lunch at the Carlton bach or a drink in the bar. With the money you save not staying there.

Room Tip: Mine was 311 and bad

What makes this hotel special are the staff......they are really good, especially the reception staff. Three years ago my wife and I and our three children checked into one of the corner, two bed-suites for a one week holiday and hours later my late father suffered a stroke in the UK. We had just unpacked. We spent most of the night packing and left on the first flight to UK early the next morning. The staff were fantastic......and they could have but did not charge for the rest of our stay.

Years ago my wife and I suffered a bathroom disfunction and were immediately upgraded to the Roman Polanski two-bed suite by an apologetic staff. This level of service is very special.

Room service is fantastic, the location is wonderful, just as I would never stay anywhere else in L.A. than the Beverely Hills Hotel, this is the place in Cannes. Even though it's probably time for a refurbishment in many of the bedrooms/suites, I must still give this hotel FIve Stars because the staff totally make it so wonderful. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Just one tip.....book direct. Don't go through Intercontinental Central Reservations......they made such a mess of a booking in Rome that we ended up with no accomodation and lost our flights. Intercontinental Central Resrvations are arrogant and incompetant but this, their wonder Cannes Hotel behaves as it did before Intercontinenental took over, perfectly.

Lovely hotel, great staff, very accomodating but two major bug bears.
1. you need a mortgage to buy a drink here - sorry I know it has location, but many of the prices are a rip off for food and drink.
2. I detest hotels who charge for the internet, the cost of internet for a week was the same price I'd say for 2 years at home. Its unacceptable.
